Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the recent days, individuals are admiring and adapting global fashion trends to style themselves everyday. This is mainly due to rapid advancements in social media updates, and I believe this is a largely positive development as it significantly helps to know the people to know about what is really trendingthese days to fashion and style out individually.

People has strong influence on worldwide fashion because of the latest developments in the publicity of clothings and innovations by creative artists socially. This is because more data and global connectivity can now learn the basic tasks of fashion world. As a result, they will not resist themselves to not to adapt these ideas. For example, globally, the data is saved in Google Chrome and in the past and present books, and now humankind are taking interest to use that style and make more exquisite innovations for future years.

It is a positive development because it is necessary to survive in this world and enhance yourself beautifully. Our day-to-day lives are dominated by repetitive tasks that consumes large amount to energy, but because of the social media apps and technology, we can get the knowledge about today's fashion and wear dresses according to our likings, but with respect for different cultures. For instance, Urfi Javed, an Indian lady, started her career in fashion in her childhood, and she has become a popular fashion designer, and many of her loved ones are trying to make their dressing outcomes like hers. Consequently, this helps the population to acquire some basic knowledge and give them some interest in what to choose in their future academic lives.

In conclusion, nowadays, fashion lovers are encouraging themselves to adopt clothing. This is because of sharply increase in the advertisements in digital platforms. I firmly believe that it is an advantageous way for those who don't have any idea about clothing, and in this way they are influencing themselves to make and wear dresses like brilliant makers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of this trend. However, the development of ideas is often unclear or illogical. For instance, the explanation of why people are influenced by fashion—citing 'data saved in Google Chrome'—is not a convincing or relevant argument. The example of Urfi Javed is also somewhat disconnected from the broader argument about global fashion trends. While a position is stated, the supporting arguments lack depth and clarity, often relying on vague generalizations rather than well-supported points. To improve, focus on providing more logical, real-world explanations for how social media and globalization specifically impact fashion choices.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression within them is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear connections. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Consequently' and 'For instance,' but they are sometimes applied incorrectly or in contexts where the logic does not follow. For example, the transition between discussing social media and the mention of 'Google Chrome' is jarring. The referencing is occasionally confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. More careful planning of paragraph structure and the use of more precise linking words would improve the flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'style out individually,' 'publicity of clothings,' and 'make their dressing outcomes.' The term 'clothings' is a common error, as 'clothing' is an uncountable noun. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of natural collocation limits the effectiveness of the communication. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on learning common collocations related to fashion and media, and avoid using non-standard phrasing that obscures the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('People has strong influence,' 'humankind are taking interest') and awkward sentence construction ('they will not resist themselves to not to adapt these ideas'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure often feels repetitive or disjointed. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and reducing double negatives would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
