Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of this as a negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the impact on traditional identity and the financial burden of luxury brands, the arguments could be more deeply explored. For instance, the example of Gucci and Virat Kohli is specific but slightly anecdotal and does not fully explain the broader societal mechanism of how fashion trends influence lives globally. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more analytical and directly linked to the prompt's core question about the nature of this influence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude with' to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the fragmented sentences starting with 'Which' (e.g., 'Which has some negative impact...' and 'Which not only are expensive...'). Improving the connection between sentences and avoiding sentence fragments would significantly enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'traditional clothes', 'global fashion trends', and 'middle class families'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'individuals wearing clothing sense' and 'inclining in global fashion'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word form and collocation, such as 'effecting to the people' (should be 'affecting people') and 'less confidential' (should be 'less confident'). Expanding your range of vocabulary and focusing on accurate collocations will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('these trends is changing'), incorrect verb forms ('which influenced by'), and sentence fragments ('Which not only are expensive...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and full stops. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity and professionalism of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
