Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is increasingly common that dressing of some individuals is greatly influenced by international fashion trends. While this trend may have certain advantages, I believe that it is largely a positive development because demand of career and convenience.
The most significant reason why I consider this to be a positive development is that global fashion trends are the demand of certain jobs. This is mainly because some professions are forced to follow the international dressing sense. When people follow the global's fashion ideas, they can acheive a position in an international firm. As a consequence, individuals who are working in the global organization have stable salaries and travel grants. For example, a pakistani female who is working in European country is influenced by western fashion trends. This illustrates that global fashion sense is the key to career success.
Furthermore, the availability of dress matters alot for a person who is working in different culture. This can lead to time saving, particularly for that person. Therefore, this development can have a positive impact overall.
Admittedly, influence of global fashion can also have certain disadvantages. One notable concern is that these are not followed in an Islamic countries. For instance, a western dress is not recommended in Iran, Saudia and Egypt due to religion differences.
However, I would argue that this benefit is relatively significant compared with drawback. Therefore, the
overall impact of this development remains positive.
In conclusion, although global fashion trends are

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons for the influence of global fashion and offering an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in supporting the main arguments with deep reasoning. Additionally, the Length Check reports that the text contains 242 words, which falls below the mandatory 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length shortfall directly impacts the task achievement score, as the response is incomplete in its final conclusion, trailing off at the end ("In conclusion, although global fashion trends are..."). Taking into account both the underdeveloped content and the word count penalty, the response fits Band 5.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a basic overall organisation with clear paragraph breaks used to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and the attempted conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "Furthermore," "Admittedly," and "However," though they are sometimes used mechanically or abruptly. The progression of ideas is fairly logical, moving from career impacts to cultural counter-arguments. However, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending disrupts the overall cohesion of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which detracts from the logical flow. Overall, the structural arrangement meets the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as "international organization," "stable salaries," and "religious differences." However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as "dressing of some individuals" instead of "how individuals dress," "dressing sense" instead of "style of dress," "the demand of career" instead of "career demands," and "Islamic countries" lacking proper article usage or agreement ("an Islamic countries"). Spelling and word choices do not completely impede communication, but inaccuracies are frequent enough to prevent the score from reaching Band 6.0, aligning best with a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses such as "a pakistani female who is working in European country." However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including missing articles ("in European country," "in Iran, Saudia and Egypt"), incorrect prepositions ("working in different culture"), and minor subject-verb or pluralisation issues ("religion differences"). Furthermore, the essay contains a spelling error ("acheive") and the final sentence is incomplete, cutting off mid-clause. These frequent errors in grammar and punctuation can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly at a Band 5.0 level.
