Student answer (Band 5.0)

According to today's modern world where everything is getting modernized like advancement in technologies, advancement in education and most important fashion trends is been setting up and enhancing day-by-day. Are these dress today influenced by global fashion trends or not i will be discussing in this following essay.

On the one hand, the way today people are dressing in their normal daily routine, in some special occasions like party, wedding ceremony etc. Like i went to dubai for tourism i looked their residents and other tourists how they dressed but now before 6 months dressing sense in my country is even improving. I can say some names like baggy jeans, trousers, down-shoulders, nike and adidas shoes are being on trend in my country. Which not just looks attractive the personality but also classy look of that person so these are having strong influences on peoples lives.

However, when i went to shopping malls and high crowded places like sea-side, beaches, cinema or any other malls or public places where dress of womens usually same as of worldwide. But this is not good actually in my country as it put bad affect generally among elders and children minds. And one more thing inseecrity rates for womens are increasing by which their respect and lives are getting on risk because of some bad habit and bad minded males who doing misuse and sexual illegal activties with those girls having dressed like global dressing sense.

I conclude that this is main thing that in which country you living use that countries dress code , because it have strong influence but respect and women rights are also necessary. Usually in some countries like hijaab wear so follow that because each country has different safety levels for womens and mens. So thats why not follow globally fashion trends in your country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons for the influence of global fashion (such as media, travel, and modernization) and offering an opinion on whether this development is positive or negative. A position is presented, arguing that while fashion brings variety, it can negatively impact traditional values and safety. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times disjointed. For instance, the transition to arguing that global fashion increases insecurity rates for women is underdeveloped and relies on generalization rather than fully realized support. The conclusion introduces abrupt new ideas about adhering to specific country dress codes like the hijab. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors, as the task is addressed, but ideas remain underdeveloped and the position becomes somewhat blurred by the end.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organization and logical progression are frequently hindered by faulty punctuation, run-on sentences, and erratic transitions. For example, the introduction relies on a convoluted opening sentence ('According to today's modern world...') and an abrupt question instead of a clear thesis statement. Cohesive devices are either misused or absent, resulting in a mechanical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'Which not just looks attractive the personality...' where the pronoun reference is dangling. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion of the body paragraphs is weak, with ideas tumbling into one another without adequate signposting. This reflects the characteristics of a Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'advancement in fashion trends is been setting up' and 'dress of womens usually same as of worldwide' demonstrate a limited lexical range. There are noticeable errors in word forms and parts of speech, such as using 'inseecrity' (insecurity) and 'activties' (activities). While the student attempts to name specific clothing items ('baggy jeans, trousers, down-shoulders'), the overall control of vocabulary is constrained, and inaccuracies occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, and the text is heavily laden with structural errors. The response contains numerous incomplete or run-on sentences, such as 'Are these dress today influenced by global fashion trends or not i will be discussing in this following essay.' Control over basic sentence structures is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('dress of womens usually same'), article usage, and prepositions ('in your country' versus 'to your country'). Complex sentence attempts are consistently faulty. Because errors are pervasive and frequently obscure meaning or require the reader to decode the intent, the performance corresponds to Band 4.
