Student answer (Band 5.0)

In modern era, fashion industry has gained significant popularity. It is one of the most influential aspect of today's person life. In my opinion, it is a positive development and i will discuss below.

Nowadays, fashion has been one of the major part of person living recent times. Moreover, a person is judged by it's appearance and it's way of dressing. Because if person looks attractive and different from others, he will have a positive impact in a society. Fashion can describe a person's character and his mindset, either it can be positive or it can be negative.

If a person looks appealing, definitely he will have a good impact on others thinking. On the other hand, same person's appearance is not attractive to other, he won't have a good impact on others.

While, Some suggets that fahsion have some negative impacts on a person's thinking. On of the obvious impact is that he starts to feel insecure, if can't follow the global fahsion trends. He starts to think that others will judge him according to his appearance. Which lead to mental stress and eventually starts to feel leftout. Secondly, you start to spend more money on improving your fahsion sense eventually, it can lead to empty pockets. Which not a ideal ending, because there some many other things to improve in your life, but you wased your money on following global fashion.

In conclusion, to follow a global fashion trends is a wise decision, if you can afford it. Still it is one of the major aspects in a person's life, because it help him to improve is appearance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion is influential and giving a clear opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The introduction states the writer's position clearly, and body paragraphs explore both the positive social impacts and the negative psychological and financial consequences of following trends. However, the ideas are often repetitive and lack deep extension. For instance, the points about making a good impression and feeling insecure are mentioned repeatedly without introducing new dimensions or fully elaborated examples from personal experience. This places the performance within Band 5, as ideas are present and address the task, but they remain limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

There is a basic organizational structure with clear separation between body paragraphs addressing opposing views, and an introductory and concluding statement. However, the overall progression is weakened by repetitive phrasing and disjointed transitions, such as 'While, Some suggets that fahsion...' and 'Secondly, you start to spend...'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun use ('he starts to feel insecure', 'Which not a ideal ending'). Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or inaccurate, and paragraphing could be managed more effectively to group related ideas together. These features align the response with Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, such as 'fashion industry', 'global fashion trends', 'appearance', and 'insecure'. However, there is a heavy reliance on basic words and frequent spelling errors ('fahsion', 'wased', 'suggets', 'aspect'). Word choice and collocations are often inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'person living recent times', 'others thinking', and 'empty pockets'. These errors occur throughout the text and occasionally cause strain for the reader, although communication of the main message remains achievable. This performance corresponds to a Band 5 in lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and relative clauses ('Because if person looks attractive...', 'Which lead to mental stress...'). However, control over grammar is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('fashion have some negative impacts'), missing articles ('is a ideal ending', 'in a society'), tense inconsistencies ('you wased your money'), and sentence fragments ('Which not a ideal ending'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate limited control over complex structures, placing the grammar performance firmly at Band 5.
