Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, new fashion trends are going viral around the whole world and many teenagers follow this global fashion trends. Fashion trends has a strong influenced on teenagers lives and sometimes new trends is not appropriate to wear and this can distract them from their studies and future goals so because of this reasons I believe that it is a negative development.
There are alot of drawback of this fashion trends. Like, teenagers will be distracted from their studies because most of the time trends goes viral from social media platforms like, instagram, tiktok, or facebook and because of this students will be on their phone and not attend there clases regularly and properly. For example, if college girl is excellent in her studies and suddenly she started following the new online fashion trends so she will be busy on her phone checking out new trends or outfits.Furthermore this can also be very expensive.
Secondly, this can also harm their culture values because most of the culture have a trend in which they like to wear a full proper dress so it should not look inappropriate in auidence. Now if there younger generation will follow these new fashion trends in which most of the times dress are not proper and inappropriate to wear for girls and boys both. For example, if a girl who wear an inappropriate dress in public so it could be bad for her own looks. Furthermore, these dreses are not always good to wear it can cause you to feel disappointed.
In conslusion, however there can be some potive points in this gobal fashion but i my opinion i completely believe that overall it is a negative development that can disrupt younger generation future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, identifying how fashion spreads through social media and arguing that it is a negative development primarily by focusing on distractions to studies and cultural values. However, the development of ideas is rather limited and repetitive. For example, the explanation of how teenagers become distracted relies heavily on general assertions rather than fully elaborated examples, noting that 'most of the time trends goes viral from social media platforms'. Furthermore, the discussion regarding cultural values is underdeveloped and somewhat unclear, relying on vague claims about inappropriate clothing. While a clear position is maintained throughout the essay, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and lack the extension required for higher band levels. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some basic organization with a clear four-paragraph structure comprising an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, overall progression is limited, and cohesive devices are frequently mechanical, repetitive, or inadequate. For instance, the second body paragraph relies on basic sequential markers like 'Secondly', and the conclusion begins with a slightly contradictory and confused transition, 'In conslusion, however there can be some potive points...'. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'if college girl is excellent in her studies and suddenly she started following the new online fashion trends so she will be busy on her phone', where pronoun usage and linking are faulty. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks flexibility, resulting in a Band 5.0 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, which is characteristic of a Band 5.0 level. The student frequently repeats words such as 'trends', 'fashion', 'inappropriate', and 'dress' without utilizing a sufficient range of synonyms or varied lexical items. There are also notable lexical and word formation errors throughout the text, such as 'culture values' instead of 'cultural values', 'auidence' instead of 'audience', 'potive points' instead of 'positive points', and 'dreses'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic meaning of the arguments presented, the presence of noticeable spelling and word choice errors, combined with a limited range, restricts the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical structure of the essay shows a very limited range, consisting primarily of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors that cause difficulty for the reader, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'Fashion trends has a strong influenced', 'trends goes viral'), missing articles (e.g., 'if college girl'), and run-on sentences joined poorly by conjunctions (e.g., 'so because of this reasons I believe that it is a negative development'). Punctuation is also weak, with missing commas in introductory clauses and choppy phrasing. Because attempts at complex sentences are frequently inaccurate and errors are pervasive throughout the text, the performance aligns with Band 4.5 or 5.0; given that some sentences are successfully constructed, a 5.0 is appropriate.
