Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's contemporary world, Every person want to shows his money-aspect lifestyle so people follow various trends. Moreover, the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends. There has been considerable debate on this topic whether it is positive or negative development.

I strongly believe that the individuals follow various trends. They dress themselves as they watch on social media. Moreover, they have negative impact on the public. The members of public spend more money to buy expensive and branded clothes. They buy it because they want to follow the trending voge. A survey conducted by a prestigious newspaper of a Britain shows that the cities where people follow more these types of voge have more deterimentl effects on the environment as people buy new cothes and threw priveious ones that cause delterious affects on our surroundings.

Further enhancing my views, underprivileged people feel sense of inferiority from affluent members of public Some people forget their culture in the rat race of follow the new trend. Moreover, youngsters spend a lot of money of their parents in buy new outfits.

Some people believe that the dress sense is important when you have to work outside. In addition to, first impression is last impression. Some members of public are judging us from outmr dress sense that how we carry ourselves. Not only this, Some people notice what colour combo we wear. So to follow these trends help us in knowing different cultures and traditions. When people follow bew trends they buy new clthes and give old ones to underprivileged people since it also help them

Different people have different notions regarding this statement but I have sound reasons to advocate that although the global fashion trend has some positive impcat but the challenges it posses never be overlooked.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion is influential through social media and addressing whether it is a positive or negative development. The writer takes a clear position, stating that although there are minor positive aspects, the negative impacts outweigh them. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on environmental harm mentions that people 'buy new cothes and threw priveious ones', but this idea lacks deeper extension with specific examples. Similarly, the arguments regarding cultural loss and financial strain remain at a surface level. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the support for the main arguments needs greater elaboration and logical extension to reach a higher band. Consequently, a band score of 6.0 is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with attempts at paragraphing, but the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesion. Phrases like 'Further enhancing my views' and 'In addition to' are used awkwardly or incorrectly. Paragraphing is weak, with short, underdeveloped paragraphs—such as single-sentence paragraphs like 'Further enhancing my views, underprivileged people feel sense of inferiority...'—that break the flow of the text. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in the sentence 'Moreover, they have negative impact on the public,' where the pronoun antecedent is ambiguous. While the overarching structure attempts to follow a standard essay format, the lack of smooth transitions and logical linking between sentences pulls the coherence score down to a 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'underprivileged', 'affluent', and 'deleterious'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the response. Examples include 'money-aspect lifestyle', 'trending voge' (vogue), 'deterimentl' (detrimental), 'priveious' (previous), 'delterious affects' (deleterious effects), and 'impcat' (impact). Additionally, expressions like 'in buy new outfits' and 'rat race of follow' show persistent grammatical and lexical inflexibility. These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, though communication of the overall meaning remains intact. This fits the profile for a band 5.0 in lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. The text contains frequent errors that often impede comprehension. Examples of grammatical errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('Every person want to shows'), missing articles ('a Britain', 'sense of inferiority'), incorrect prepositions ('spend a lot of money of their parents in buy new outfits'), and fragmented or ungrammatical clauses ('So to follow these trends help us...'). Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, as seen in the double spacing and run-on structures. Because errors are frequent and recurrent across simple and complex structures alike, the grammar score is a 5.0.
