Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemporary era, the majority of people depend on the global fashion trends especially on dress codes, individuals' lives are extreamly influenced by them and it can take a negative path.
Firstly, the way people are making outfits and dressing is getting more and more weird and inappropriate according to the global fashion trends, most of the girls are wearing clothes revealing ot showing out parts of their bodies in order to be more attractive to guys, however, these are contradicting both cultural manners and religious bannings. For instance, in the late 20th century women back then used to wear long dresses with long sleves, but nowadays girls can go out freely with shorts and crop tops, this clearly how the population is loosing their manners beleiving that developping and blending with a new era is getting rid of old manenrs named "fashion".As another exemple, both christianisme and islam banned women to wear short clothes or revealing ones in order to be protected from devils and men, however with a more developped era, people beleive that these strict rules should be left behind for those incient ages.
In addition, people are more addicted to show as beautiful and attractive as possible claiming that wearing good outfits and attractings clothes can make a person popular and loved from the society, this last reflects that individuals lives are influenced by the global fashion and how it really matters for them. For instance, especially in high schools, groups of girls can be seen in tv shows like sheer-leaders wearing cute ad sparkling clothes and they are loved from almost everyone in their schools, however intelligent pupils wearing a bow-tie or glaces they are usually called as "nerds" a'd they are often left behind without friends.
From my own perspective, i believe that this global fashion is not only ruining out communities by avoinding both religious and cultural rules but also they are deviding people to catégories, making some feel unbelonging to a community just because of what someone is wearing is truly inacceptable, i really believe that everyone has the right to wear whatever he likes as long as it makes him comfortable and doesn't hurt anyone.
To conclude, the fashion globar trends maybe given for benificial reasons and to make people alike and follow one pattern and dress samely, however it went dramatically down causing disturbance in societies and communities

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring reasons for the influence of global fashion (such as media and social desire for popularity) and clearly stating a negative position regarding its social impacts. The arguments are generally relevant, discussing cultural and religious shifts alongside social categorisation. However, the development tends to rely on personal generalisations and sweeping assertions rather than fully balanced or rigorous analytical points. For instance, claims about girls dressing to attract 'devils and men' or the absolute social ostracisation of 'intelligent pupils' are a bit simplistic and under-developed in academic terms. Nonetheless, a clear position is maintained throughout the essay. This performance aligns well with Band 6 descriptors for Task Achievement, as all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though some areas suffer from slight lack of nuance and depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs exploring the respective prompt questions, and a conclusion, showing an overall awareness of paragraphing. However, logical progression within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by run-on sentences and comma splices, such as in the opening sentence where multiple clauses are incorrectly joined by commas. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or misused, as seen with phrases like 'this last reflects' and 'As another exemple'. Referencing is occasionally ambiguous, making it difficult to trace the exact antecedent of pronouns like 'they'. Furthermore, paragraphing could be structured more cleanly to separate the two distinct prompts of the task more effectively. Overall, the organizational structure meets the requirements for a Band 5.5 or 6, but formatting faults and mechanical cohesion place it securely at Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range to communicate ideas about fashion, society, and culture, employing words such as 'contemporary', 'inappropriate', and 'categorisation'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('extreamly', 'sleves', 'loosing', 'beleiving', 'developping', 'manenrs', 'christianisme', 'incient', 'sheer-leaders', 'glaces', 'avoinding', 'deviding', 'inacceptable', 'globar', 'benificial', 'samely') and word-choice inaccuracies ('fashion globar trends', 'bannings', 'attractings clothes'). These errors occasionally strain the reader, although they rarely impede overall comprehension. Less common lexical items are attempted but lack precise control in spelling and collocation. This fits the Band 5.0 descriptors well, as the vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, but noticeable spelling and word-choice errors cause frequent difficulty.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating relative clauses and conditional elements. However, grammatical control is weak, with frequent structural errors, particularly run-on sentences and comma splices. For example, sentences often string multiple independent clauses together using only commas, such as '...most of the girls are wearing clothes revealing ot showing out parts of their bodies in order to be more attractive to guys, however, these are contradicting both cultural manners and religious bannings.' There are also noticeable issues with subject-verb agreement and prepositional use (e.g., 'depend on the global fashion trends especially on dress codes'). While meaning can generally be extracted, the high frequency of structural and punctuation errors prevents the score from reaching Band 6, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.
