Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, individuals' dressing is being drived by global fashion trends largely due to influence of their favorite celebrities and global social media influencers. According to prespective, it is a negative development because these trends can effect the clutural dressing if followed blindly.

To begin with, globally acknowledged social media influencers and famous stars are contributing in starting a trend. The followers of such personalities usually influenced by them because they are obsessed and wanted to adopt everything they observed in their idols. For instance, justin biber is one of famous personalities in the world, and if he starts a new dress trend, number of people start using same sort of clothes or garments so they can be seen as follower of justin biber.

however, global trends are negatively effecting the culture because in some traditions people have different traditional customs and dresses that are deeply connected to their traditions. Although global trends somehow can be beneficial in some places or countries, it is negatively influencing the people from traditional cultures, leaving their traditional clothes and adopt new trends, which would eventually lead to a removal of an culture dressing trend. To illustrate my point, a person from countryside area gets influenced by these global trends, and people from the same place will see and follow the same trend, which would gradually change the dressing trend of the whole area.

In conclusion, global trends are being adopted nowadays due to global influencers, whereas as it is contributing in remmoval of clutural dressing trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing the role of influencers in spreading global fashion trends and presenting a clear position that this is a negative development due to cultural erosion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep extension. For instance, the argument regarding cultural dress is stated rather than fully developed with specific, concrete examples beyond a general mention of the countryside. While the writer covers all prompt requirements, the support remains basic and could be expanded to reach higher bands. Therefore, this performance aligns well with Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized to separate main ideas, such as the cause of the trend in paragraph two and the negative effects in paragraph three. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or awkwardly used, as seen in the transition 'however' (which has a punctuation error) and repetitive referencing like 'people from the same place'. Progression is generally clear, but the logical links between sentences can feel slightly abrupt. This performance fits the Band 6 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas about fashion and culture. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'drived' instead of driven, 'prespective' instead of perspective, 'effect' instead of affect, and 'remmoval' instead of removal. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'globally acknowledged' and 'traditionally connected', but inaccurate spelling and collocation issues ('clutural dressing') prevent the score from reaching a higher band. These errors do not completely impede communication, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ('if he starts a new dress trend...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense usage, article selection, and agreement, including 'dressing is being drived', 'are contributing in starting', 'number of people start', and 'negatively effecting'. Punctuation is also weak, particularly with lowercase capitalization for proper nouns like 'justin biber'. While the meaning remains generally clear and communication is rarely impeded, the frequency of errors prevents the grammar score from reaching a Band 6.
