With moderzisation the ways in adoptation of dressing by people is changed specially by young agers. The of all the main reason for following such trend is the excess use of internet and television. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing why global fashion has become influential and arguing that it is a negative development. The position is clear throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, noting the role of social media, celebrity endorsement, and cheap online accessibility. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the negative impacts are illustrated briefly using the national dress of Pakistan, but the arguments could be extended further with deeper explanation. Despite the under-development of certain points, all prompt questions are answered, and a clear stance is maintained. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors where all parts are addressed and relevant ideas are presented, though some lack full extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for reasons and impacts, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward referencing, punctuation issues, and mechanical cohesive devices. For instance, transitional phrases like 'The of all the main reason' and 'In conclution' contain significant errors. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion feels disjointed in places, such as in the abrupt transition between discussing advantages and concluding. Pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear. These features reflect the Band 5 to Band 6 transition; while there is an overall structure and some organisation, the use of cohesive devices is flawed and mechanical, making Band 5.5 the most appropriate score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including terms like 'modernisation', 'celebrities', 'followers', and 'garment industries'. However, there are numerous word choice, collocation, and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'moderzisation', 'adoptation', 'young agers', 'Advertisment', 'frequently use', 'on less rate', 'cheap in cost', 'accessiblity', 'drwaback', 'outting', and 'negarive affects'. These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, although communication remains generally clear. The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but the high frequency of lexical slips prevents the score from reaching a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as using 'Although, there are several advantages too' and participial clauses like 'allowing the purchasers to get these on less rate'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in prepositions ('depite of', 'at several websites'), articles ('The of all', 'a large number of population'), verb forms ('is changed', 'are getting in'), and sentence fragments ('Due to cheap in cost and easy accessiblity these trends are getting in'). These errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The control of grammar aligns most closely with Band 5, where attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty.
