IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends.

How has global fashion become such a strong influence on people's lives? Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

People dressing styles are changing with time and getting more attention of the people around the world. People dress today are very influenced by global fashion.

Global fashion has become such a strong influence on people's life. As world is become global village and people are connected to digital world more often as it was ever before. Most of the people watch showbiez, dramaz and movies and try to dress like the famous characters. In a few previous decades western dressing has been adopted in most of the countries in the world. Hollywood movies watched all over the world by different kind of people. Many people watch famous models of the industry and try to adopt the dressing style. When people watch their neighbours with unique type of dressing it influence them to do the same and that style goes viral in short time.

We can see it both positive and negetive ways. It is real fun and good to waer different type of cloths with time. People can wear cultural cloth on festivals and can waer suit when it becomes to professional life.

If we see negetive part of it. Changing styles could be costly and poor people can't afford to change their style with modern world. Being in the suit all the day when working could be really trouble for some people. If one is not comfortable in suit, the work progress will be low and affects the daily life.

So I see it very negetive on daily life and it shouldn't be encouraged at all. Cultural dressing should be encrouged and it will make the world more sencible and comfortable for all.
