Student answer (Band 5.5)
Fashion has a great influence on the people life in the present day.In this modern era with the establishment of social media the fashion become a part of people beacuse internet play a important role in spreading fashion trends throughout the world.
The fashion has totally changed the lifestyle of people .The fashion has become a business .Fashion houses are earning billions by influencing people using various marketing strategies .They make the popular faces their brand ambassdor who attracted alot more attention and sales.
The fashion trends and their popularity around the world has complicated the life of people .Espacially the womens who are running after these trends in oreder to catch with the rest of world. With the popularity of social platforms like instagram, youtube, facebook and Tiktok these trends has took a drastic turn to the point where people has lose the interest in their own life while being obsessed with what these fashion houses and models are doing .In my prospective these fashion houses and brands have now become a biggest capalist looting people money .The brands are selling people anything in the name of fashion .For example, just recently a brand name Chanel launched their new sandal which only covers a person toes and they are selling it at the prices which is basically a working class person monthly salary in the many developing countries but many people in the world are still going crazy for beacuse they are launched by a luxury fashion house in the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing how global fashion has become influential through social media and marketing, and presenting a clear viewpoint that this is a negative development driven by capitalist exploitation. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding the Chanel sandal is relevant, but the overall elaboration tends to loop around the idea that brands loot people's money rather than exploring broader socioeconomic or psychological dimensions. The position is maintained throughout, but because the ideas are somewhat thin and lack deeper extension, the response fits comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a basic organizational structure with an introduction and body paragraphs, but paragraphing is poorly executed. The second and third paragraphs are very long and clump multiple distinct ideas together, while the introduction lacks a proper spacing break from the second paragraph. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes awkward, such as the sudden shift into examples without smooth transitional phrases. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in pronoun usage like 'they' and 'these trends' where antecedents become muddled. Overall arrangement shows some coherence, but mechanical cohesion and faulty paragraphing pull the score down to Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic arguments, featuring attempts at less common items such as 'brand ambassador', 'marketing strategies', and 'capitalist'. However, there are numerous lexical and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'beacuse', 'ambasdor', 'Espacially', 'womens', 'oreder', 'prospective', and 'capalist'. These errors detract from the quality of the writing, although they rarely impede overall understanding. The range is limited, and word choices often rely on informal or inaccurate phrasing, such as 'running after these trends' and 'going crazy for'. These limitations place the lexical resource firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is severely compromised by frequent errors. There are persistent punctuation issues, missing articles (e.g., 'play a important role', 'at the prices which is'), pluralization mistakes ('womens', 'money' treated incorrectly in context), and subject-verb agreement or tense errors (e.g., 'these trends has took', 'people has lose'). While some complex sentences are formed, many contain structural faults that cause strain for the reader. The frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching higher bands, making a Band 5.0 score appropriate.
