Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often discussed, that the dressing choice of people is influeunced by the global fashion trends these days. The progress in technology and internet are the major reasons for this development. In my opinion, it is a negative trend, as it bounds people into a set of unsaid boundaries about their clothing choices, otherwise they are deemed as boring or less attractive persons.
The advancements in the techonlogy and the ways of communication in the last 50 years are the major forces behind this trend. Infact, we are living in a global village now, where one event in the world affects the rest of the world in days. Evidently, such is the case of fashion, once it was thought to be a local trend, that changed from country to country. Now, the ways of coummunication have some what unified people's choices all around the wolrd. For instance, not a long ago there were no international celebrities, but now people have idols to follow from all around the wolrd due to social media and internet.
I think this is a negative development, as people willingly or unwillingly feel restricted to some clothing options, as those are the only trendy ones these days. Moreover, those who dare to go against these choices, they are preceived as primitive and out of the norms. Eventually, it infringes personal choices of people by making them stuck to the so called fashion trends. Subsequently , people those who do not have the so called fashion sense, even face difficulties at professional places. For example, an interview is first judged on the basis of his clothes, then his intellectual abilities are evaluated
Overall, the progress in the technology has made the fashion a global trend and it has effected people's lives negatively, due to the supposed burden to fit into the society by following the set of fashion choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by explaining why global fashion has become influential and presenting a clear position that it is a negative development. In the first paragraph, the student outlines technological and internet advancements as key drivers. The body paragraphs further support the position, noting how social media creates global idols and how societal pressures restrict personal choice. While the ideas are relevant and supported, some points tend to over-generalize, such as the claim that people are generally deemed 'boring or less attractive' without further nuance. Nevertheless, the main parts of the prompt are successfully covered, fitting comfortably into the criteria for Band 6.5 to 7.0. Given the clear positioning and well-developed supporting points throughout the essay, a band score of 6.5 is well-earned.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear logical organisation with an introduction, well-defined body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, moving from causes in the second paragraph to consequences in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the use of transition markers such as 'Infact', 'Evidently', and 'Subsequently ,' contains punctuation and spacing errors, and referencing can be repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, but the logical links between sentences occasionally feel abrupt. These features align closely with the descriptors for Band 6, where the arrangement is coherent overall, but cohesive devices and referencing present some mechanical flaws.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common phrasing such as 'global village', 'infringes personal choices', and 'intellectual abilities'. However, there are notable spelling errors throughout the response, including 'influeunced', 'techonlogy', 'coummunication', 'wolrd', 'preceived', and 'effected'. Furthermore, some word choices are awkward or imprecise, such as 'dressing choice' instead of 'clothing choices' or 'dress sense'. While these lexical errors and misspellings are frequent, they do not impede overall communication, as the writer's meaning remains clear. This performance is characteristic of Band 6, where an adequate range is displayed despite noticeable spelling and word-choice errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures, such as 'where one event in the world affects the rest of the world in days' and 'people those who do not have the so called fashion sense'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several errors, including redundant phrasing like 'people those who', missing articles ('an interview is first judged on the basis of his clothes'), and awkward clause structures ('those who dare to go against these choices, they are preceived'). Punctuation errors also occur, such as the extra space before the comma in 'Subsequently ,'. Despite these frequent errors, they rarely impede communication. This balance of mixed structures and persistent errors fits the Band 6 descriptor well.
