Student answer (Band 5.0)
alot of aspects of the way many individuals dress nowadays are affected by global fashion trends. global trends in fashion industry has a huge impact on people lives . this can be positive and at times have a negative impact too.
Almost every individual in todays time wanted to follow the global trend in dressing . weather it is a man or women they wanted to be fashionable. they follow the laste style of the famous actor or actress and try to replicate them . They impact of big brands manufacturing clothes accessories is huge . people wanted to buy them irrespective of the price just because of the brand or beacuse their favourate influencer has advertised them. big companies use the peoples weakness and try to sell their product as a very high cost . releasing new collection evry season and publishing them in a way that people influnced. for example, according to a study done in 2016 87 percent of individuals wanted to buy luxury clothes or luxury accessories just for the validation of other . there are really very few that are really interested to buy the item just because they like them.
I strongly think this could give a very negative impact on people. dresses are supposed to be a necessary comodity . But producing them and marketing them in a large scale like a luxury item could change the mindset of the person. People tend to buy the coslty ones even though they cant afford just for the validation of others and this could lead to many criminal activities.small dealors would loose their business.for example: in the recent studies it shown thats most of the costliest brands are wirn by the middle class people .
in my conclusion following global fashion trends is not bad but not to a far extent . It should not be seen as a social level upgrade .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion has become influential and presenting a clear viewpoint that the trend is largely negative due to financial and social pressures. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and leans towards over-generalisation, particularly in unsupported claims like 'according to a study done in 2016 87 percent of individuals wanted to buy luxury clothes'. The position is maintained throughout, but some arguments, such as the link between luxury buying and criminal activities, remain under-developed and lack logical extension. To reach a higher band, the student needs to provide more convincing, detailed examples and fully elaborate on the consequences of global fashion trends rather than relying on sweeping generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance presented from the introduction through to the conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, though paragraph boundaries and internal structures are sometimes messy. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic or mechanical. For instance, referencing is occasionally unclear, and transitional phrases between sentences are sparse, leading to a choppy flow. Additionally, punctuation errors like missing capital letters at the beginning of sentences and after full stops disrupt the logical progression and place the text firmly at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about fashion, brands, and social validation, but the range is limited and frequently repetitive, using words like 'fashion', 'trend', 'luxury', and 'validation' multiple times. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'alot', 'weather' instead of 'whether', 'laste', 'favourate', 'peoples' instead of 'people's', 'comodity', 'costly', 'dealors', 'loose' instead of 'lose', and 'wirn'. These lexical inadequacies and spelling mistakes cause noticeable strain for the reader, aligning the response with the Band 5 descriptor for this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent and systematic errors in basic sentence construction, capitalization, and punctuation, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('alot', 'almost', 'they', 'in my conclusion') and missing commas. Errors also appear in subject-verb agreement and word forms, such as 'people lives', 'people wanted', and 'most of the costliest brands are wirn'. While meaning is usually recoverable, these persistent grammatical and mechanical errors heavily restrict the range of error-free sentences, supporting a Band 5.0 rating.
