Student answer (Band 5.0)
Global fashion has influenced so many people the reason behind is, that they spend a lot of money on their research. After that they get to know what people like nowadays. After the proper research and analysis, they come to know about the likings and dislikings of the people.
To commence with, people of every age either they have money or not, will try their best to dress-up according to the latest global fashion trends. As we know, that most of the celebrities always try their best to follow the new trends. Becuase they try their best to influence their followers or fans. That's the reason everyone who want to have their influence on their friends, family or colleagues. They always try to follow the trends. Somehow, it has some positive impact on the people becuase they always try to improve themselves to look better.
On the other hand, many people who are in their struggling phase. They do not have much money to spend on following the global fashion trends. They have to deal with their daily problems instead of wasting on following the trends.
In conclusion, I think people who have time or money, should follow the trends just to reward themselves for their hardworking. Becuase if you have achieved something in your life then why should not you spend money on yourself. And if you don't have time or money to follow the trends you should work hard to make yourself capable of following the latest trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring why global fashion influences lives and discussing whether this is positive or negative. The student attempts to explain the reasoning behind fashion influence by mentioning research and celebrity culture, and offers a personal perspective regarding financial capability. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and rely heavily on generalisations and repetition, such as repeatedly stating that people 'try their best' or spend money. The position is somewhat blurred by informal reasoning and abrupt transitions, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text is divided into logical paragraphs with basic introduction and conclusion structures. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and faulty. The writer uses standard transitional markers like 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand', but referencing and linking within paragraphs are weak. For example, sentences often begin abruptly, such as 'The reason behind is, that they spend...' and 'Becuase they try their best...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall progression of ideas feels disjointed rather than naturally flowing, warranting a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and repetitive. Words like 'fashion', 'trend', 'people', and 'money' are used excessively throughout the text. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'research and analysis' and 'colleagues', but word choices and collocations are basic. There are noticeable spelling errors, such as 'Becuase' (repeated multiple times) and grammatical word form issues like 'likings and dislikings' and 'hardworking' instead of 'hard work'. These errors do not entirely impede communication, reflecting a Band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. The majority of sentences are simple or contain faulty attempts at complex clauses, often resulting in sentence fragments. Examples include 'The reason behind is, that they spend a lot of money on their research' and 'That's the reason everyone who want to have their influence on their friends...' Subject-verb agreement errors are present ('everyone who want'), along with frequent punctuation and comma splice issues. Because these errors cause some difficulty for the reader and complex structures are frequently ungrammatical, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
