Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, global fashion has changed the way people dress. At present, people spend a lot of time to choose their outfit by researching online, moreover, they try to follow global fashion trends. In some extent, I strongly believe that is a negetive development is peoples' fashion choice.

At present, people are following multiple famous person on social media, in addition, they became biased significantly by the activities of their favourite social media influencers. However, when people saw that their favourite actor is worn a new cloths they become much more interested to buy it. Probably, they are not buyining necessary stuffs, buuying a famous identity. Nowadays, fashion companies are also advertising through social media and whenever they watch the ads for too many times it can encourage them to purchase it. Furthermore, social media algorithom are always monitor the behaviour of a user, for instance, when user watched an video for multiple times about a specific product, they immediately show ads about buying the product.

There are a number of reasons why I believe its a negative developments in peoples' dressing preferences. This strong influence can negatively affects peoples' personal choices. In the upcoming decades it can take them away from their own traditional cloths, in addition, may tend to waste money on buying some unnecessary products. Finally, follow global fashion trends could affects their autonomy about buying comfortable cloths.

In colclusion, although following global fashion trends can make people look more attractive, in contrast, it can destroy the abilities to choose perfect cloths.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion is influential through social media and influencers, and clearly stating a position that this is a negative development. Ideas are relevant, noting impacts such as wasting money and losing traditional clothing. However, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth in exploring alternative viewpoints or more nuanced examples. The position is stated in the introduction and maintained throughout the body and conclusion, satisfying the core requirements for Band 6.0 under Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is divided into a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, demonstrating an overall logical organization. However, the use of cohesive devices is frequently mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'At present... moreover... In some extent' and 'In colclusion'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing could be improved to better group related ideas about social media influence versus negative impacts. This level of organization and cohesive control aligns well with the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts to use less common items and subject-specific terms such as 'influencers', 'algorithms', and 'autonomy'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'negetive', 'peoples', 'actor is worn a new cloths' (instead of clothes), 'buyining', 'buuying', and 'algorithom'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, including subject-verb agreement issues ('social media algorithom are always monitor'), incorrect verb forms ('actor is worn', 'they are not buyining'), and preposition misuse ('In some extent'). While basic meaning is communicated, the density of grammatical inaccuracies places this response at Band 5.0.
