Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people are following trends so global fashion is one them, where mostly people dress themselves with current trends. I believe this is a positive development because people can choose their own style and relate easily with other cultures.
Firstly, Social media plays a significant role in people's lives because people consume or follow trends by watching styles show and fashion awards. When their favourite celebrities and social media influencers promote a particular fashion, they copy them and try to follow their dressing styles. For example, a public figure promotes a farshi shalwar trend on Instagram, and a large number of public will attract towards that same tyle and copy them in their own life. In this way, they may follow every global fashion trends, whatever they find on such social platforms.
Secondly, It seems to me that it is a positive development because people can select their own styles and carry themselves according to their personality. This is not only providing a variety of options but also they can connect with the other cultures as well, whom they really admire. For instance, they can participate in the international fashion styles awards to represent their favourite culture dress. In addition, these styles may build respect to other culture and increase curioristy to know indepth more about these styles. Therefore, people become more confident when they carry themselves with their favourite fashion style.
In conclusion, people become influenced by digital platforms, as it is positive advancement because they can style themselves with their own choice and help them to connect with others traditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing how global fashion has become a strong influence and giving an opinion on whether this development is positive. The position is clear throughout, and main ideas are presented. However, the development of ideas tends to be somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the explanation of social media influence mentions that people copy celebrities, supporting it with an example of a 'farshi shalwar trend on Instagram', but the argument remains somewhat generalized. Similarly, the positive aspect is supported by mentioning cultural connection and personal style, but the examples provided, such as participating in 'international fashion styles awards', are slightly unclear and under-developed. To reach a higher band, the ideas would need more thorough explanation, greater extension, and stronger, more precise illustrative examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is generally coherent with a clear overall progression. The response is divided into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing each part of the prompt, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal the structure of the argument, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'For example', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the sentence 'When their favourite celebrities and social media influencers promote a particular fashion, they copy them and try to follow their dressing styles' contains ambiguous pronoun referencing ('they'). Additionally, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to avoid repetitive sentence structures. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but the management of cohesive ties requires more flexibility.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their message about global fashion and social media. There are attempts to use less common items and topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'social media influencers', 'public figure', and 'international fashion styles awards'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing, such as 'a large number of public will attract towards that same tyle' (instead of 'attracted towards that same style') and 'build respect to other culture' (instead of 'build respect for other cultures'). Spelling errors, such as 'tyle' instead of 'style' and 'curioristy' instead of 'curiosity', also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in grammatical structures. Examples of complex sentences include 'When their favourite celebrities and social media influencers promote a particular fashion, they copy them and try to follow their dressing styles.' However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. These include subject-verb agreement issues like 'global fashion is one them, where mostly people dress themselves', tense inconsistencies, and missing prepositions or articles. For instance, 'increase curioristy to know indepth more about these styles' exhibits awkward phrasing and grammatical inaccuracy. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist across the text, preventing the response from achieving a higher band descriptor.
