Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, people styling sense is increasing day by day and they become modern and follow the trend going on thesedays even something they forget about their traditional too but obviously according to the demands and for the society requiremnt we have to follow the global fashion trends to remian in contact with the environment.

According to my prespective, I strongly agree that it play a positive role in development because through fashion people can get confident and their sense of dressing represent their way of life. For instance if teacher will come waering a night dress in the class it would be had a bad impression on the students and it is informal way to represent your self too. So, fashion has a strong influence on people's lives as we have to follow the trends to become the part of that community Global fashion gives people a wider range of choices and allows them to express their personalities through clothing. However, One major concern is that people may feel pressured to constantly buy new clothes in order to follow changing trends. This can lead to unnecessary spending and contribute to excessive clothing waste.

In conclusion, global fashion has become highly influential because of social media, international brands and online shopping. While it provides greater choice and opportunities for self-expression, and the decline of traditional clothing makes it a largely negative development too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring why global fashion influences lives and presenting a view on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat disjointed. The position is stated but lacks consistent support, and the reasoning regarding traditional clothing and community requirements is underdeveloped. Furthermore, the response falls below the required word count minimum of 250 words, coming in at 231 words. This under-length impacts the overall fullness of task execution, placing the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor range where ideas are partially addressed and limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion, but the overall progression is hindered by poor paragraphing and a lack of clear cohesive ties. Sentences often run together without adequate transition markers. For instance, transitioning from the discussion of teachers wearing night dresses directly into community belonging lacks a smooth logical bridge, and the sentence beginning with 'However, One major...' contains punctuation and capitalization issues. Cohesive devices are generally repetitive or inadequate, leading to a mechanical flow that sometimes requires the reader to decode the intended relationship between ideas, aligning with Band 5 characteristics.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is of a basic and repetitive nature, demonstrating a limited range that is minimally adequate for the task. Phrases like 'styling sense is increasing day by day' and 'modern and follow the trend going on thesedays' rely on everyday language rather than precise lexical choices. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'remian', 'prespective', and 'waering', which detract from the response. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'unnecessary spending' and 'self-expression', the overall control of word choice and collocation remains constrained, fitting Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on long, run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'so'. Attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, demonstrated in clauses such as 'if teacher will come waering a night dress in the class it would be had a bad impression'. Frequent grammatical errors, incorrect verb forms, and missing punctuation permeate the text, causing occasional difficulty for the reader and preventing the emergence of error-free sentences. These limitations correspond directly to the Band 5 criteria for grammatical range and accuracy.
