Student answer (Band 4.0)
Nowadays some people have decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether.I understand that this can beneficial to environment but it can lead to significant drawbacks for individuals and businesses.I partly agree to this view, as both the sides have valid points.
In my opinion, the environmental benefits could be such as less air pollution, no more high maintenance required in managing the flights and airports and people can also contribute by travelling to near by cities by avoiding flights and take other options such as taxi, train or bus.Like, before few days I travelled to pune from gujarat by car and it saved my lot of money as air tickets are too much in costs.
On the other hand, this can bring big loss to the individuals having time commitments and also to there businesses.Like there was a time few months backs when I travelled by air due to high costs of tickets which in result lead to a big financial loss for me as I couldn't reach the place on time which made a negative impression of mine in front of the investors.
In conclusion also there are different opinions about whether reduce in number of flights have become of benefical or disadvantageous, I believe that this can bring environmental benefits but keeping individuals perspective it more depends on them that how they want to travel which should not lead to there loss in businesses and time related commitments too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The candidate has written an essay that addresses a completely different prompt than the one provided. The response discusses reducing the frequency of flying and its environmental and financial impacts, whereas the actual writing task prompt concerns global fashion trends and whether their strong influence is a positive or negative development. Because the response is entirely off-topic and fails to address any part of the stimulus questions regarding global fashion, it can only be evaluated at a Band 3.0 level for Task Achievement, as the ideas presented have no relevance to the given task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Despite being off-topic, the student attempts a standard essay structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is visible, though the divisions are somewhat basic. Cohesive devices such as 'In my opinion', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal shifts in the text. However, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak logical links between sentences. Cohesion is mechanical and at times faulty, corresponding to a Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice and collocation errors. For instance, the student writes 'can beneficial to environment' (missing a preposition/verb element), 'high maintenance required', 'near by cities', 'air tickets are too much in costs', and confuses 'there' with 'their'. While the student attempts some functional vocabulary related to travel and finance, the numerous lexical inaccuracies and limited range mean the performance aligns best with Band 4.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, heavily relying on simple sentences joined by basic conjunctions. Attempts at complex sentences often result in faulty structures and run-on phrasing, such as in the concluding sentence. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing articles, and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'whether reduce in number of flights have become of benefical'). These errors frequently distract the reader, supporting a Band 4.0 score.
