Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued in the present time that most of the aspects of individuals dresses are greatly inspired by global fasion trends. This has left a strong influence on the lives of people through its inheritence from global markets accepted by a huge population regardless of age.In my perspective, I think this is a negative development.
To begin with, International markets keep upgrading their fashion trends in a peroidic manner which has a huge impact on the fashion community initially. To cope up with the business model, markets intentionally promote these trend through various eye-appealing strategies. As a result, consumers of all age groups tend to purchase the new designs to keep up their clothing standards with time. Moreover, individuals are attracted by the western fashion culture due to stereotypes built in the society. For example, there are numerous individuals who prefer buying imported dresses through online platform from abroad rather than their own country because of the wide-spread belief that its superior in quality.
However, I think this a negative development because there exists people with not-so-good financial backgrounds who cannot afford to keep up with the growing trends. They may hardly be surviving on less and following the world is not meant for them.Apart from financial cause, other factor incclude wastage of materials as most people discard their clothes even if it is in good condition.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing why global fashion has become influential and stating a clear position that this is a negative development. Ideas are presented regarding marketing strategies, western stereotypes, financial burdens, and material waste. However, the response has two main limitations. First, it is under-length, containing only 224 words compared to the minimum requirement of 250 words, which prevents full development of the ideas. Second, the exploration of both causes and the negative stance is somewhat brief and under-developed in the final paragraphs. While the position is clear throughout, the brevity resulting from the word count shortfall restricts the task response to a Band 5.0 level according to the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a basic organizational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, establishing an overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, though the final body paragraph is notably sparse. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'However' are used to connect ideas, but referencing is sometimes clumsy, as seen in the phrase 'other factor incclude'. While the coherence is generally sufficient to follow the writer's line of thought, mechanical transitions and some structural abruptness place the response firmly in Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'eye-appealing strategies', 'stereotypes', and 'financial backgrounds'. However, there are notable spelling and word choice errors, including 'fasion', 'inheritence', 'peroidic', 'incclude', and awkward collocations like 'keep up their clothing standards'. While these inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score. The vocabulary control is minimally adequate for the task, earning a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination with clauses introduced by 'due to' and 'even if'. There are several grammatical and mechanical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('other factor incclude', 'there exists people'), missing articles ('in present time', 'with not-so-good financial backgrounds'), and punctuation slips. Nevertheless, the meaning remains mostly clear and the errors do not severely impede understanding. This balance of mixed structures and frequent minor errors fits the Band 5.5 descriptor.
