Student answer (Band 5.5)

Global fashion has very massive influence on individuals fashion choices.

We are living in a global village where every one is well aware of the global fashion trends and thats how the global fahsion has influenced people choices all around the world where individuals consume content of all the global brands and designers and can also access them easily.

Global fashion influence has been proven to be beneficial for the big brands as they aqquire their customers from all around the world this does not only genrates them profit but also increases the ecnomic growth since fahion industry is quite massive. This also inspires young individuals who love fashion to either experience the trendy clothes and also learn through big designers. In addition, global fashion also brings unity and sense of relatability when similars styles or patterns are appreciated. For instance, Nike sneakers are loved all around the world which brings commones in Athletes, common people or Celebrties.

On the flip side, it also has some negative impacts like global fahsion influence effects and disturbs the local fashion busniess community sverely as people no longer shows interst in national products. In addition, it also kills the diversity and individuality when everyone wants and appreciates the same thing .For instance, Nike football sneakers are so famous among athletes around the world that they dont even look at or try their local sneaker brands.

I firmly believe that global fashion influence has proven to be positive development but its negative impacts clearly outweights the positive impacts in my opinion as it kills the local busniness and diversity amongst individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why global fashion has a strong influence and evaluating whether this is a positive or negative development. A clear position is established throughout the essay, culminating in a specific conclusion in the final paragraph. Ideas are generally supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning Nike sneakers to illustrate both global unity and the overshadowing of local businesses. However, the development of ideas leans towards over-generalisation, particularly in the body paragraphs where explanations are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper elaboration. While all core parts of the prompt are covered, the depth of extension places this response comfortably at Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The student relies heavily on additive transitions like 'In addition' and basic connectors like 'On the flip side'. Furthermore, referencing and sentence linking are occasionally awkward, such as the run-on structure in the second sentence: 'We are living in a global village where every one is well aware of the global fashion trends and thats how the global fahsion has influenced people choices...'. Paragraph transitions lack smooth progression, resulting in a somewhat choppy flow. These issues align with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'global fashion trends', 'economic growth', 'individuality', and 'relatability'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors throughout the text, including 'fahsion', 'aqquire', 'genrates', 'ecnomic', 'similars', 'commones', 'Celebrties', 'busniess', 'sverely', 'interst', 'outweights', and 'busniness'. Additionally, word choice and collocations are occasionally imprecise, such as 'very massive influence' and 'global fashion influence effects'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey meaning, the frequency of spelling and lexical errors restricts the score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty and prone to run-on issues, as seen in the extremely long second sentence of the first paragraph. Punctuation is weak, with missing apostrophes ('thats', 'dont'), missing commas before conjunctions in compound-complex sentences, and random capitalisation choices. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('global fahsion influence effects', 'people no longer shows') and missing articles. Despite these frequent errors, the meaning is generally recoverable, which places the grammar performance at Band 5.0.
