Student answer (Band 5.5)

In present age, worldwide fashion become a strong influence on people's daily lives. However, this may cause difficulties to some individuals's lives but in the other hand it can be beneficial.

One the one hand, following a global fashion can affect you in financial terms, because fashion changes every month so individual have to buy new clothes after every week and this may cause some financial difficulties. For example, mostly people follow celeberities like what they wear becomes trend amoung youth, however they had plenty of money but some people are not that much wealthy, so this global fashion trend becomes a trap for them . Worldwide fashion comes in many option like tattoos and eating in resturaunts rather than eating at home. In this money plays a very crucial role, a individual can make up to any global trend only if h e or she had enough money and if nt then it can become a lifetime nightmare.

On the other hand, worldwide trend can help individuals to learn about other cultures and to inhance their personalities. Because, if a person look dashing and he or she is wearing trendy cloths then everyone notice it. For example, if someone is wearing sneakers which are in trend and just newly launched by a big company like nike or adidas, then it becomes the highlight in that individual's personality.

In conclusion, in my opinion following a worldwide fashion depends upon a person's wealth and there mindset. So, this statement have advantages as well as disadvantages. Some people often buy trendy cloths to inhance there personality, whereas some buy it only to be highlighted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion has become influential and evaluating whether this is positive or negative. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported, such as mentioning financial burdens from constant trends and the cultural learning aspects. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise or remain slightly under-developed, such as the brief mention of tattoos and restaurants without a strong tie-in to fashion. Examples like celebrity influence are relevant but lack depth. Overall, the content sufficiently covers all parts of the task, meeting the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides, and conclusion appropriately. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as "One the one hand" and "On the other hand". However, referencing is sometimes unclear, and cohesion can feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, as seen with phrases like "Worldwide fashion comes in many option like..." and "In conclusion...". Paragraph transitions and internal logical flow are generally maintained, but mechanical errors in linking cause it to sit comfortably at a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "financial difficulties", "celebrities", and "dashing". However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "present age" instead of 'the present age', "amoung", "celeberities", "inhance", "option" instead of 'options', and "resturaunts". Furthermore, phrasing like "if nt then it can become a lifetime nightmare" reflects lexical limitations and awkward collocations. Despite these errors, communication is not impeded, and the vocabulary remains minimally adequate, aligning with a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, agreement, and preposition use, such as "worldwide fashion become", "individual have to buy", "mostly people", "a individual", "h e or she had", and "their mindset" (written as "there mindset"). Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely obscure meaning, they cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar score from reaching a higher band. These characteristics correspond to a Band 5.0.
