Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are many aspects of the way people are dressed today by the influence of global fashion trends. According to my opinion, global fashion has become a strong influence on people's lives.
Admittedly, there are upteen factors which caused people to adopt fashion in their lives. First of all, I would say that people want to improve their lives according to the changing trends. Social media is one of the key factor involved in the promotion of the fashion. Fashion has a postive impact in human history as it helps to increase your personality. Thus many new brands are enabling fashion in their products to increase their sales. People adopt fashion to look ideal. For example, one of well known online platform of shopping amazon is involving fashion day by day.
Similarly, fashion has aslo a negative impact. People are forgetting their cultural traditions. Now a days, everyone wants a fashion others do not have. So, in this way negletion of our forefathers fashion is occuring which is a negative effect.Young generation is adopting fasion in their daily life. Thus, we should take measures to save our cultural fasion. We can promote our cultural fashion on social media. We should upload different activities and videos of our traditional fasion on youtube.
Finally, I would say that fashion has a positive effect on human development. We should adopt fasion in our life but one can also our traditional and cultural fashion. Though fashion has influenced people to dress well, so it should be adopted in different fields as it has strong effect on personality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the reasons why global fashion influences lives and examining whether this is a positive or negative development. The student presents a clear position throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep development. For instance, the reasons given for the influence of fashion, such as social media and the desire to look ideal, are stated rather than fully extended. Similarly, the negative impact concerning cultural traditions is briefly mentioned without concrete illustration. This places the response comfortably at Band 6, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, separating the positive and negative aspects into distinct sections. However, the progression is sometimes hampered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Similarly', and 'Finally' are utilized, but referencing and linking within paragraphs can be mechanical or unclear, such as the sudden pivot in the conclusion. Overall, the organization is understandable, aligning with the Band 6 descriptor where cohesion is sometimes faulty and referencing is not always clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'upteen', 'negletion', and 'cultural traditions'. However, there are notable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'postive' instead of positive, 'aslo' instead of also, and 'fasion' instead of fashion. The use of 'upteen' is inappropriate in formal academic writing. Despite these errors, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message without severely impeding communication. This performance fits the Band 5 to 6 range, but leaning towards a 5.0 due to the noticeable spelling and lexical errors that cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like relative clauses and conditional elements. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors present throughout the text. Examples include 'the way people are dressed today by the influence', 'Social media is one of the key factor', and incomplete or awkward phrasing like 'one can also our traditional and cultural fashion'. Punctuation and article usage also show persistent flaws. Because these errors occur frequently and occasionally strain the reader's comprehension while mixing simple and complex forms, the writing aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptor.
