Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, the people dressing is completely influenced by global fashion trends. The global fashion have strong influence on people lives. The main reason that most people are inspired from social media. In my opinion, this trend has more negative impacts on individuals life.
On the one hand, most individual are inspired by social media, international brands, celebrities and influencers because on media they see large varieties of clothes. The global companies make similar clothes available in many countries. People compare their design and prices to purchase online. As a result, people can quickly learn about international fashion. For example, a young person in pakistan can easily see the latest clothing style wear by a celebrity in America or South Korea elseswhere with the help of social media apps. They may choose similar clothes from local stores or online stores. This show how social media spread the fashion world wide.
However, global fashion trends can also have some negative effects on people's lives. One major disadvatage is that people feel pressure to follow famous fashio trend. For example, Many young students buy trending clothes in high prices to follow the fashion trend. As a result, they spent money on clothes they do not really need, which can create financial pressure and encourage unnecessary consumption.
In conclusion, global fashion have highly influences by social media, international brands and culture exchanges. Although it can encourage uneccessary spending and financial instabability, it aslo provide greater choice and oppurtnities for self-expression.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the causes of global fashion's influence and whether it is a positive or negative development, maintaining a clear position. However, it falls just short of the minimum word count requirement, coming in at 248 words. Furthermore, some ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly the conclusion where the discussion regarding cultural exchanges and financial instability is introduced very late without prior support in the body paragraphs. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to ensure the word count exceeds the minimum and fully extend all supporting arguments with deeper elaboration rather than brief concluding generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as the causes of fashion trends versus their negative effects. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, with repetitive linking devices and referencing that is occasionally unclear, such as abrupt transitions between sentences. While logical sequencing is present, progression stalls due to underdeveloped supporting details and repetitive phrasing. Achieving a higher band requires smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs, as well as a more varied and natural use of cohesive devices to connect ideas logically throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'international brands', 'unnecessary consumption', and 'self-expression'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, form, and spelling throughout the response, including 'fashio', 'uneccessary', 'instabability', and 'oppurtnities'. Phrases such as 'people dressing' and 'spent money... in high prices' further reveal restricted control over collocation and word formation, which occasionally causes strain for the reader. To reach the next band, the student must expand their vocabulary range, improve spelling accuracy, and use words with greater precision regarding collocation and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies heavily on a limited range of simple and basic complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'the people dressing is completely influenced', 'The global fashion have strong influence', 'most individual are inspired', and 'style wear by a celebrity'. Attempts at complex sentences frequently contain structural faults or agreement errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress to a higher band, the writer must demonstrate better control over basic grammatical structures, improve tense consistency and agreement, and incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex sentences.
