Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is obvious that individuals prefer wearing attires are trendy worldwide. Undoubtedly, global fashion has a profound impact in every nook and corner of the world. However, I personally believe that it has some negative ramifications, especially in underdeveloped countries.
In this contemporary era, people love to wear trendy outfits, as they want present themselves in a proper way. Besides, world has become a global village, and people have the access to get the particular knowlege regarding fashinable outfits just because of the assistance of social plaforms. Moreover, they have a tendency to make videos and upload them on social platforms so that they can be upcoming influencers on social sites. For this reason, people always prefer following or purchasing modern outfits. In some cases, fashion houses create some persuasive advertisements by the social influencers so that they can allure more and more customers, especially teenagers prefer to buy the attires which are selected by their favorite influencers and it creates severe pressure on their parents.
However, I firmly believe that this phenomenon has some negative consequences all over the world, especially those who belong to lower-income families. In this fast-paced era, people tend to purchase trendy items, especially schoolgoing children prefer to buy global trendy outfits. As a result, they put pressure on their parents so that they can buy these clothes, which can lead to create some unrest situations among their family members. For example, research has shown that a significant number of teenagrs loved to buy the Kiranmala Dress( an Indian traditional dress) last year in Bnagladesh, and it was outrageously expensive. Most of the underprivileged adolescents were unable to afford this dress. But, they were presurring on their parents to manage this attire. In ssome cases, a minimal number of teenagers committed suicide attempt when they did not get this dress.
In conclusion, following trendy collections is not a crime, but when it creates unrest situations in society, should be addressed. In fact, people should concern their social status before buying any fashionable items and fashionable houses should be restricted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the causes of global fashion's strong influence and evaluating it as a negative development. However, the ideas are presented with some limitations in development. For example, the explanation of how social platforms and influencers drive fashion trends is somewhat repetitive and touches on ideas without fully extending them. Similarly, the argument regarding economic pressure on families is raised twice—first generally and then through the specific example of the Kiranmala dress in Bangladesh. While the position is clear throughout, the support tends to over-generalize and lacks fully realized exploration in places, placing the task response right in the middle of development expectations. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend each main point with deeper analysis and more varied supporting evidence rather than restating similar concepts across different paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized, separating the causes from the negative consequences. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices, such as the frequent use of transition phrases like 'Besides', 'Moreover', and 'For this reason'. Referencing can also be slightly unclear or awkward at times, such as 'especially those who belong to lower-income families', which fails to link back smoothly to the preceding clause. To improve coherence and cohesion further, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of referencing and substitution, ensuring that logical links between sentences and paragraphs flow more naturally without relying on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'ramifications', 'contemporary era', and 'outrageously expensive'. However, there are notable inaccuracies in word choice and collocations, such as writing 'attires are trendy' instead of 'trendy attire', 'knowlege regarding fashinable', 'persuasive advertisements by the social influencers' instead of 'created by', and 'unrest situations' instead of 'financial strain' or 'domestic conflict'. There are also minor spelling slips like 'knowlege', 'fashinable', 'plaforms', 'presurring', 'ssome', and 'Bnagladesh'. While these lexical errors and limitations do not completely impede communication, they restrict the precision and flexibility of the writing, keeping the vocabulary score constrained.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and subordinate structures such as 'as they want present themselves' and 'when they did not get this dress'. Nevertheless, there are frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure throughout the text, including missing infinitives ('want present'), awkward passive constructions, and issues with prepositional phrases and pluralisation, such as 'a significant number of teenagrs loved'. Additionally, sentence boundaries and punctuation in the final paragraph are problematic, notably in the sentence starting with 'when it creates unrest situations in society, should be addressed', which lacks a subject. These recurring grammatical inaccuracies require effort from the reader to parse meaning, which prevents the essay from achieving a higher rating.
