Student answer (Band 5.5)
With the trend of globalisation and following of role models increasing day-by-day, fashion trends around the world is also flourishing in rocket speed in common people's life. Definitely, the influence of good advertisement, and more ambitious thinking of people of appearing attractive to others nowadays, has influnced the mindset of citizens to be engaged in gloabl fashion designs. According to my notion, this system has worsely impacted the traditional and religious culture of diverse societies, along with made huge transition in the proportion of family income being addressed for the fashion stuffs. That's why I think, its definitely negatively directing the society's development.
Firstly, the clothes, language, fooding style and all cultural things are the proud we are taking from generation-to-generation, which is overturned into less importance, as younger generation are more influenced by outdoor styles. This causes loss of values, socially as well as of individual identity. For instance, once the villager gets to foreign countries, with learning of outside culture, he leaves behind ownself and society may also act differently to him.
Secondly, not all the people are financially viable to afford the stuffs needed for being fashionable globally trending. Middle class family may have to face huge obstacle if their upcoming children get engaged and need it badly. There are different cases and issues arised recently too, regarding the buying of newly updated iphone mobile and even some are terminated into suicide cases. These trends really might causes human loss too.
In short, global fashion trends must be limited for the specific peoples and for the specific socities only too. Government should also play role in uplifting local fashion trends to avoid the possible challenges that can have bad consequences.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why global fashion has grown in influence and stating a clear position that it is a negative development. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, while the writer mentions the impact on traditional and religious cultures and family finances, the explanation relies on sweeping generalisations rather than fully extended arguments. The second body paragraph abruptly shifts to an extreme example regarding mobile phones and suicide cases, which detracts from the main topic of clothing and fashion. To reach a higher level, the ideas need more thorough elaboration, supporting evidence, and a more relevant line of reasoning rather than relying on tangential points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a clear attempt to organise the essay into distinct paragraphs, starting with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the overall progression lacks complete clarity, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by mechanical or awkward transitions, such as starting paragraphs with 'Firstly,' and 'Secondly,' followed by disjointed examples. Referencing is also not always clear; phrases like 'leaves behind ownself' create ambiguity in meaning. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes repetitive or inaccurate. To improve cohesion, the writer needs to ensure smoother logical links between ideas and more precise referencing throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'globalisation,' 'transition,' and 'financially viable,' but these are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. Examples include 'flourishing in rocket speed,' 'fooding style,' 'worsely impacted,' and 'fashion stuffs.' Additionally, there are awkward phrasings that cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items more accurately, and pay closer attention to natural collocations and appropriate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in articles, prepositions, plurals, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'fashion trends... is also flourishing,' 'people of appearing,' and 'socities.' Punctuation and sentence boundaries also show instability, leading to run-on structures or awkward phrasing like 'That's why I think, its definitely negatively directing.' These errors require some effort from the reader to decode the intended meaning. To progress, the writer should focus on mastering basic grammatical structures, ensuring correct verb forms, and increasing the proportion of error-free sentences when attempting complex grammatical patterns.
