Student answer (Band 6.0)
In modern times, many individual dressed up at present which influence global fashion trend, particularly younger generations. This influence is largerly contributed by social media, international brands and increase of communication between various countries. In my opnion it is a positive development because it encourages to exhange cultures and have a greater choice.
At the begin, global fashion trends have become increasingly influential in determining how people dress. The major reason for the influence of global fashion is the rapid growth of socia media. Platforms such as instagram, tiktok and youtube allow the fashion trend to spread across the countries with short period of time. For instance, many influencers upload the short videos or reels to promote the brands, which influence people to wear such trending clothes. Another reason is promotion of new style by the famous celebrities. Flimstars promote branded clothes, which can then be copied by millions of followers. To illustrate, salman khan a famous actor promote being human as new brand clothes with affordable prices that influence many people.
Additionally, There are several benefits to this development. Firstly, global fashion gives individuals a wider range of clothing styles to choose from. People can discover ideas from other cultures and adapt them to their own preferences. For example, young people in India may combine traditional clothes such as kurtas with modern Western-style clothing. This can allow them to express both their cultural identity and their personal style. Furthermore, international fashion can encourage creativity and make people more open to different cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the causes of global fashion influence and whether it is a positive or negative development, which keeps the score at a solid level. A clear position is stated in the introduction, asserting that social media and international brands drive this trend and that it is positive. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the reasons behind global fashion are elaborated with examples like Instagram and actor Salman Khan, the discussion on the positive aspects could be extended further. Certain points tend to be somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion where ideas are listed without adding new depth. To reach the next level, every main idea needs to be fully supported and explored with greater depth and thorough explanation rather than relying on brief examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as the causes of fashion trends in the second paragraph and the benefits in the third. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'At the begin,' and 'Additionally, There are' show awkward phrasing or punctuation errors. Referencing and linking could be smoother; for instance, the conclusion cuts off abruptly ('trend to encourage'), demonstrating that cohesion breaks down near the end of the text. To achieve a higher band, the use of cohesive devices needs to be more flexible and natural, avoiding repetitive transitional markers and ensuring seamless connections between sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'cultural identity', 'influencers', and 'traditional clothes'. However, there are noticeable limitations in range and precision, accompanied by several word choice and spelling errors that do not impede communication. Examples include 'individual dressed up at present', 'largerly' instead of largely, 'opnion', 'socia media', 'instagram', 'tiktok', and 'Flimstars'. Furthermore, phrasing such as 'being human as new brand clothes' lacks precise collocation. To progress to the next band, the writer needs to incorporate a wider and more flexible range of vocabulary, demonstrating better control over word formation, collocation, and accurate spelling of common terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses ('which influence people to wear such trending clothes') and conditional or participial modifications. There are, however, some recurring errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include article omission and misuse ('increase of communication', 'in short period of time'), verb form errors ('many individual dressed up at present', 'actor promote'), and capitalization issues ('instagram', 'salman khan'). Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist often enough to prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, the writer should focus on strengthening control over basic agreement, articles, and complex sentence construction to ensure greater grammatical accuracy.
