Student answer (Band 5.0)

Fashion industries have global attention over the passage of time whether some people dress according to the fashion trends that are influenced by various models through social media and other electronic devices. I believe this is a positive development and in this essay I will discuss both positive and negative development.

It can be argued that global fashion has strong influence on people's lives because the world is now connected through internet and the several other reasons such as professions in which they maintain themselves according to regulations but it also impact on people behaviour towards their fashion sense. Although children are effected by the global fashion trends which leads them to change in living methodology that they cause distrubance because of insecurity when they wear dress which is outdated. Many people spend significant amount on their dresses and without having any purpose for instance, wearing new clothes on someones's wedding but among youngesters they waste their money on dresses which they wear at once in a life.

On the other hand, global fashion also indicates to wear clothes of particular brands and it has positive impact on advertisements that people select them online and it provide satisfaction to those people who mostly wear branded costumes. Howerever, social media play essential role in people's live to promote global fashion and adopt new trends. Models and actors also influence people to develop trends because on television and programs people view them and dress according to new trend that they have promoted.

In conclusion, youngester's are effected most by global trends but it also provides information about wearing for some professions. I believe that it is a positive development that it helps people follow some guidelines from others who promote fashion through advertisements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While it attempts to answer both parts of the prompt regarding the influences on global fashion and whether it is a positive or negative development, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, in the introduction, the writer states 'I believe this is a positive development and in this essay I will discuss both positive and negative development,' which introduces confusion about the writer's actual position. Furthermore, the discussion of negative aspects in the second paragraph touches vaguely on children being affected and people spending money, but lacks clear examples or adequate extension. To reach a higher band, the response needs to present a fully clear and consistent position throughout, extending and supporting all ideas with relevant explanations and examples rather than relying on generalised statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation evident with basic paragraphing and general attempts at linking ideas, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, as seen with phrases like 'On the other hand' being used somewhat loosely to introduce new points rather than a direct contrast, and transitional phrases such as 'Howerever' which also contain spelling slips. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of arguments between sentences. To improve, the writer should ensure that each paragraph has a distinct central topic, that cohesive devices are used more naturally and accurately, and that a clear logical thread connects the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'methodology' and 'signification', but these are often used inaccurately or inappropriately in context, like 'change in living methodology' or 'distrubance'. There are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'distrubance', 'youngesters', and 'Howerever', which can cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to expand their lexical range, demonstrate better control over word choice and collocations, and pay closer attention to word formation and correct spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simpler sentence patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving verb forms, articles, prepositions, and plurals, such as 'Fashion industries have global attention', 'it also impact on people behaviour', and 'youngester's are effected most'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To move up to the next band, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex structures with greater accuracy, ensuring that basic agreements, tense consistencies, and punctuation are controlled more reliably throughout the text.
