Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that human's style nowadays are impacted by global fashion trends and it has become such a strong influence on our's lives. I strongly agree that this view has a positive outcomes for several reasons.

On the one hand, the major reason why I agree with this view is that with the developing of technology, it allows people to have access to media and many types of entertainment, suggesting many ways of dressing or which option is the best for different types of body. Moreover, through the impacts of famous people, such as actors, actress or singers, KOLs,.., people are influenced by their idols not only because they are famous in their fields but also the way that they dress. For example, a Blackpink's member - Jennie, who is really famous and has a huge impact on her fans because of the way she dresses, and it got influenced even greater since she became a global ambassador of Chanel. As a result, global fashion trends have given many positive outcomes in how people dress.

On the other hand, as I mentioned, with the developing of technology, people nowadays could easily find out the latest trend in every aspects of life and fashion is not an exception. Through smartdevices, and even televisions they could be influenced and get an information about any latest ways of dressing globally. This means that more and more business or shops catching up with the trend to provide those piece of clothes and accessories as well, which meets the demands of many people. Moreover, with the people's insight that they always want to have a good appearance, and trendy clothes, being updated with global fashion trends helps them to satisfied that needs.

In conclusion, I still hold onto the idea that global fashion trends have many good benefits on people's lives, does matter they are from variety of genders or ages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing why global fashion has a strong influence and expressing a clear position that this is a positive development. However, some ideas remain under-developed or repetitive. For instance, the introduction claims there are several reasons for the positive outcomes, but the body paragraphs largely reiterate the role of technology and media access rather than deeply exploring diverse impacts. Examples are provided, such as mentioning Blackpink's member Jennie, which helps illustrate the point about famous figures, but the explanation tends to circle back to the same concepts of convenience and trend-following without extending the reasoning further. To reach the next level, the ideas would need to be fully elaborated with broader implications or more varied supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate different points, with clear transitional markers such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, particularly in how the second and third body paragraphs overlap in their discussion of technology and information access. Referencing and cohesive devices are occasionally faulty, such as the phrase 'as I mentioned' creating a slightly conversational rather than academic tone. To improve, the logical flow between sentences needs to be smoother, ensuring that each new idea builds progressively upon the previous one rather than restating it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to discuss fashion trends, technology, and personal appearance. There are noticeable word choice and word form errors throughout the text, such as 'human's style' instead of 'human styles' or 'people's styles', 'actor, actress or singers, KOLs,..,' which contains punctuation errors and informal listing, and 'to satisfied that needs' instead of 'to satisfy those needs'. Additionally, phrasing like 'get an information' contains unnecessary articles. While these lexical slips and inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they reflect a limited control over less common vocabulary and collocations, keeping the vocabulary score at a level where precision and stylistic awareness need further refinement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and participial phrases such as 'people nowadays could easily find out the latest trend in every aspects of life and fashion is not an exception.' However, there are frequent errors in grammatical structures, plurals, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, including 'our's lives' instead of 'our lives', 'developing of technology' instead of 'development of technology', and 'in every aspects' instead of 'in every aspect'. Punctuation and agreement errors also occur, such as the messy punctuation around lists and awkward relative clauses. These frequent errors in complex structures require the reader to occasionally work harder to parse the meaning, which aligns with the given evaluation.
