Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, people's dresses has been influenced by global fashion. Although, this challenge may have some pros, I believe it has more drawbacks because it creates fomo and pressure among people .This essay will discuss the main cause of this trend and why it has negative development.
One of the major causes of fashion's strong influence on people's lives is social media. This is mainly because global fashion is promoted on social media, people get influence by these trends on media and try to imitate trends. For instance, recetly all over the world the trend of wearing long boots was boosted on social media, so everyone started by buying boots, regardless of their needs. As a result, individual buy and follow things which social media advertise.
On the major reason why it has negative impact on people because it create a pressure among people to buy, there is a slang word for it called FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out). Individuals get so much pressure of following these trends that they might go on wrong steps to follow these trends.
For instance, a girl ran out of her house because her parents weren't allowing her to wear revealing clothes. As a result, global fashion cause stress among people to follow the fashion.
In conclusion, social media is the root cause of global fashion influencing on people's lives and these impacts might cause some detrimental consequences on people's lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, as it is 13 words short of the minimum 250-word requirement. While both parts of the prompt are touched upon—identifying social media as the main cause and viewing the trend as a negative development—the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on the causes of fashion influence jumps straight to social media without exploring broader cultural or economic factors. Similarly, the consequence of global fashion is illustrated with a single extreme and unsupported anecdote about a girl running out of her house, rather than reasoned arguments. The student's position is stated but lacks the full extension and support expected at higher levels.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some overall organization with paragraph breaks and introductory and concluding remarks, but it lacks a clear progression throughout. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'As a result' and 'For instance' to link under-developed thoughts. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'On the major reason' instead of 'One major reason'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow between sentences within paragraphs feels disjointed, causing the overall structure to feel mechanical rather than fluid.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common terms and phrases, such as 'FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out)' and 'detrimental consequences', but noticeable errors in word choice, spelling ('recetly' instead of recently), and word formation ('global fashion influencing on people's lives') cause some difficulty for the reader. Collocations are occasionally unnatural, such as 'go on wrong steps' instead of 'take the wrong path' or 'make poor choices'. These persistent lexical inaccuracies keep the response restricted.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are noticeable grammatical errors throughout, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people's dresses has been influenced', 'individual buy'), missing articles ('it create a pressure'), and awkward prepositional patterns ('influence by these trends'). Punctuation errors, such as spacing issues around commas and periods, also occur. These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally pause and decipher the intended meaning.
