Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary world, we can see the dominance of US in the global world. America is the major superpower on the planet and it has its influence on each and every domain of life whether it is related to social-economic, political, or cultural. The US fashion industries are really inspiring the world's other industries. It is influencing the global fashion trends across the world.
The way people are dressing today is inspired by the increasing global fashion trends. In the present world, everybody wants to look different from others. They have there supermodels, actors and athelets as there rolemodel and they want to look like them .
There is both negative and positive development of global fashion trends on people's kives. As with the development of these global trends people are forgetting about their roots, cultures and traditions which they belong to. They consider their own culture less superior than the others. For girls following these trends signifies that they have freedom in their life.
But definitely there are some positive developments too. Now with these increasing trends in the countries like India people are becoming modern in terms of clothing. Women can have a liberty to wear and follow these trebds at some extent.
In conclusion, i want to say that there sre both positive abd negative developments of these trends across the world. Its upto people how they look at these trends. Following something doesn't mean that you are forgetting about your own culture. You have freedom to follow your dreams and aspirations but by following i didn't say that comparing or numbering cultures, values abd traditions from low to high .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the causes of global fashion influence and evaluating whether this development is positive or negative. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed. For instance, the introduction attributes global fashion almost entirely to US dominance, which is a somewhat narrow view, and the body paragraphs touch on cultural loss and modernization in India but fail to extend these points with fully realized explanations or specific examples. The writer attempts to express a position, but the overall development lacks depth and remains superficial throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organization with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different aspects, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical links between sentences and paragraphs are frequently weak. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on simple transitional phrases. Furthermore, paragraphing is somewhat erratic, with very short, single-sentence paragraphs that disrupt the flow of the argument and make the overall structure feel disjointed rather than logically sequenced.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'contemporary world' and 'dominance', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form, such as writing 'social-economic' instead of 'socio-economic', 'kives' instead of 'lives', and 'trebds' instead of 'trends'. Spelling and word-form errors occur regularly throughout the essay, including 'rolemodel', 'athelets', and 'abd', which restricts the range and can occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside basic attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('in contemporary world'), pronoun agreement issues ('They have there supermodels... as there rolemodel'), and awkward prepositional or clausal patterns ('i want to say that there sre both positive abd negative developments'). These frequent errors and instances of awkward phrasing persist throughout the response and can cause some difficulty and hesitation for the reader.
