Student answer (Band 6.0)
Globalisation means a person can travel to different places and explore their lifestyles. Nowadays, people's dressing sense is influenced by international fashion standards. This essay will discuss its reasons before explaining why I believe that it is a positive development.
To begin with, technology plays an important role in influencing people, as significant number of people are using social media nowadays where they see different kinds of people of distinct backgrounds wearing various types of clothes.
For example, people are influenced by well-known personalities' dressing sense by seeing them on media platforms. Sometimes, people admire a celebrity and can easily get influenced by the way their favourite celebrities dresses up. Additionally, with the advancement of globalisation, a person can commute easily from their home country to other places to explore different cultures and types of clothes others wear.
In my preception it is a positive development, there are multifarious reasoons behind it. First and the foremost, people are highly narrow minded in some nations and when they see others wearing different kinds of clothes, it may help to change their mindset and will welcome other trends with open arms. In addition to this, businesses can also selll different clothes which will not only help them in boosting their revenue but also positively impact on economic growth of the country.
In conclusion, although dressing sense strongly affects the mindset of person, it can also help in the growth of economy by selling different clothes from different cultures. In my point of view, it is a positive development because it optimistic side overshadows the pessimistic one.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the reasons for the influence of global fashion and the writer's opinion that this is a positive development. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which is typical of this level. For instance, the reasons regarding social media and travel are introduced, but the explanation of how travel specifically impacts dressing habits is somewhat brief. The writer's position is clear throughout the essay, with a distinct introduction and conclusion, and the main arguments are generally relevant, even though some generalisations are made regarding people being narrow-minded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression throughout, reflecting a performance that bridges the gap to the next band. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the causes, the evaluation of the development, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed reasonably well to connect ideas, such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion can occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure, preventing the response from reaching the highest organisational bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an acceptable range with attempts to incorporate less common items and phrases such as 'multifarious reasons', 'globalisation', and 'optimum side'. However, there are some spelling errors, such as 'preception' instead of 'perception', 'reasoons', and 'selll', alongside minor word-choice inaccuracies like 'dressing sense' instead of 'dress sense' or 'clothing style'. These errors do not impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the argument without difficulty, but they highlight the need for greater precision and lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting varied structures such as conditional and relative clauses. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('as significant number of people') and minor punctuation slips, including a comma splice in 'In my preception it is a positive development, there are multifarious reasoons behind it.' Nevertheless, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede communication, with the majority of simple sentences remaining accurate.
