Student answer (Band 5.0)

In todays modern world, numerous styles of the way individuals dress in present days. These are catched by international clothes trends. I partly agree with this view.

At the begin, most of the people think that this influenced has several drabacks. Mainly old folks. They consider that it is harmfull for our culture like, in rural areas men's and women's dressed in formal way so they reckon that it is our tradition additionally every person is deeply attached by their tradition. Because it provide security and sense of indentity. Furthermore, if someone is attract by foreign art then it is bad influnce on village. For instance, several girls wear short clothes then other girls are also want to wear these dress. that is why some persons are not setisfied with global fashion.

Moreover, others argue that this has a positve impact on society. Such as experience. Like in present-era citizens are more open-minded then ever before. perents are supportive and generous with their child. childrens have no rstriction for dressing, government also support this matter every person has their own writes. For example, in 90s many things is not good like no family support for fashion also society has their own rules so that is why todays era for trends is a good thing. people,s are happy due to freedom. for everythings.

In contrast, although it has some disadvandages however also has several advantage so this trend has positive development. Because citizens are more aware for their needs, they demand better service.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the criteria for a mid-level score. While the writer attempts to answer both parts of the question—discussing the influence of global fashion and giving an opinion on whether it is a positive or negative development—the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding traditional values and security in the second paragraph lacks supporting elaboration or clear examples, relying instead on repetitive assertions about rural communities and clothing choices. Similarly, the argument in favour of fashion being a positive development in the third paragraph mentions open-mindedness and government support, but these points are abruptly shifted without deep exploration. The writer takes a partial stance, concluding that the trend is a positive development, but the progression of ideas is hindered by a lack of sufficient extension and depth.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic organization with discernible paragraph breaks separating introduction, opposing viewpoints, and conclusion, but it suffers from a lack of clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, leading to a mechanical feel. For example, transitional phrases like 'At the begin,' 'Moreover,' and 'In contrast, although it has some disadvandages however' demonstrate awkward linkage and mechanical cohesion. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the dangling pronoun reference in 'These are catched by international clothes trends,' which leaves the reader working harder to track the subject matter. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical transitions within paragraphs are frequently disrupted by abrupt jumps between ideas without adequate signposting.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, reflecting a restricted range. The writer attempts less common vocabulary items, but this results in noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'catched' instead of 'caught', 'drabacks' instead of 'drawbacks', 'harmfull', 'indentity', 'attract' instead of 'attracted', 'influnce', and 'disadvandages'. Furthermore, stylistic lapses such as 'old folks' and 'short clothes' show a lack of precision appropriate for academic writing. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic message about global fashion trends, the high frequency of spelling and word-form errors restricts the score to this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures employed are highly limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences and basic attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are persistent, frequent errors in basic grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction that cause considerable difficulty for the reader. Noticeable issues include subject-verb agreement problems ('many things is not good', 'peoples are happy'), incorrect preposition usage ('attached by their tradition'), fragment sentences ('that is why some persons are not setisfied with global fashion'), and tense inconsistencies. Complex structures are attempted—such as 'In contrast, although it has some disadvandages however also has several advantage'—but these fail due to severe structural errors and missing elements, leaving the majority of sentences marred by grammatical inaccuracies.
