Student answer (Band 5.5)
Over the recent few decades, globalisation put an adverse effect on the life of individuals. Therefore, nowadays, pupil are dressed well according to the changing fashion trends globally. This essay will intend to discuss about the reasons of people changing habits of wearing clothes and this is a negative development which I will discuss in enumerated paragraphs.
To commence with the reasons how global fashion put strong impact on society. First and formost, technology is advancing day by day so internet connectivity is available at very nook and corner. Thus, people watch online about new fashion trends around the globe and want to adapt these to maintain equal status in the society. Secondly, today, many individuals live far away from their home country for building their better future so it is necessary for them to acquire others cultures and traditions for easy living. As a result, it increases cultural diversity.
On the other hand why this is a negative development. Firstly, it is more expansive to adopt new fashion trends. To explain it, fashion always change with time so it is very hard to compete with others becuase it is a waste of time and money. Resultanty, people may loose their personal appearance due to engaging themselves more in show off than inner satisfaction. Secondly, more influence on global fashion trends will affect culture and traditions of their nation. To elaborate it, pupil do not feel good in wearing their countries popular attires which may vanish presence of their famous clothes around the world.
In conclusion, although it enhances cultural diversity, yet indulging more in these kind of activities will be a waste of money and time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: the internet is presented as a way people encounter international trends, and you clearly judge the influence negatively. The points about cost, pressure to keep up, and possible loss of traditional clothing are relevant. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that people living abroad adopt other cultures is not clearly connected to global fashion’s influence, and the cultural-diversity point is not developed. The discussion of cultural loss would be stronger with a specific example or a clearer explanation of how fashion trends displace local dress. Develop each main reason with a concrete illustration and make the link to your position explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining influences, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, the organisation sometimes feels mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For instance, the move from people living abroad to “cultural diversity” does not explain how this supports the answer about fashion. The opening also promises “enumerated paragraphs,” which is unnecessary and does not guide the reader naturally. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s central claim, then connect supporting explanations directly to it; vary linking devices and use clear references to avoid abrupt transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “cultural diversity,” “personal appearance,” and “traditional attires,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “put an adverse effect” and “maintain equal status” do not express the intended meanings naturally, while “fashion always change” is also an unsuitable form and phrasing. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “formost,” “becuase,” and “Resultanty.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than formal-sounding phrases, and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of topic-specific collocations and using them consistently would make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure with “Thus” and a concession in the conclusion beginning “although.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “pupil are dressed,” “fashion always change,” and “people may loose their personal appearance”; the opening sentence also has an unclear construction around “globalisation put an adverse effect.” Some longer sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Review subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and practise building complex sentences with one clear main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause. More accurate sentence patterns would make your meaning easier to follow.
