Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the way individuals dress is largely influenced by global fashion trends. Fashion trends around the globe have quite a strong influence on human's lives and according to my perspective, it is a negative development as it can promote controversial fashion and sometimes cruelty as well.
In contemporary society, fashion trends have been evolved so much from the past and they are becoming quite popular worlwide. People spend most of their time on social media and try to follow every fashion trend which influencers promote without minding if it would suit them or not. For instance, mostly influencers on instagram platform showoff clothing from high end luxury brands and people easily get influenced to shop from these brands as well. Moreover, societal pressure plays a crucial role in influencing people to follow trendy fashion. Individual tend to buy trendy stuff even if it's not according to their taste just get social acceptence.
Conversely, i believe that it is a negative development because there are a few brands which exploit animals for making their stuff. For instance, Hermes is a well known international brand and it is famous for their handbags especially birkins; however, the brand kills exotic animals for their skin to make handbags and people buy these bags knowing the fact that an animal has been killed in making of this bag. In addition, sometimes brands can promote controversial fashion like ripped jeans and dress made from plastic bags. Influencers play a massive role in promoting these controversial fashion trends.
To put it in a nutshell, although global fashion has a very strong influence on people's lives, I believe that it is a negative development as these fashion trends can indirectly promote cruelty and exploitation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media and societal pressure, and you clearly state that you view the development negatively. The examples of influencers showcasing luxury brands and the use of animal skins help make your points relevant. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is more developed than the discussion of its effects, and some claims need clearer support. For example, the point about “controversial fashion like ripped jeans” is asserted rather than explained, so it is not clear why this trend is harmful. Develop each main idea with a specific consequence or example, and clarify how global reach, advertising, or online visibility has strengthened fashion’s influence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on causes and negative effects, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from social media to social pressure is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “In addition” help signal examples and added points. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because several sentences rely on these explicit transitions rather than showing the relationship between ideas more naturally. “Conversely” is also not the best link for introducing another reason supporting your negative view. Use a more precise transition, and connect claims to their consequences within paragraphs so the argument develops more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “societal pressure,” “exploit animals,” and “controversial fashion.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an attempt to discuss the issue precisely. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice problems, such as “worlwide,” “showoff,” and “social acceptence,” as well as awkward phrasing in “fashion trends have been evolved.” Some expressions are also too broad: “controversial fashion” does not explain what makes the clothing controversial. Check spelling carefully, choose more natural collocations, and use precise terms for the specific harm or influence you mean.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “even if,” and “although.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “fashion trends have been evolved” uses an incorrect verb form; “Individual tend” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “just get social acceptence” lacks a clear grammatical connection to the preceding clause. There are also issues with articles and sentence punctuation, as in “on instagram platform.” Review verb forms, agreement, and clause construction, and proofread sentence boundaries and capitalization. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make your reasoning clearer.
