Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, worldwide fashion trends have a noticeable impact on individuals dressing sense in various aspects. This global fashion has become so remarkable in lives of people because of social media and moving abroad.According to my perspective, this phenomena has potential drawbacks because one's own culture is dying and materialism is increasing.

Worldwide fashion trends have influenced people's lives .One major contributing factor in this approach is the social media because social media applications show the content of different countries despite of geographical boundaries .Individuals consume the fashion trends by following the celeberties and then try to impliment these fashions in their own dressing sense which gives them a modren look which motivates them to try different fashion trends.Rising trend of moving abroad can be the another reason of this .As individuals prefer to do jobs or businesses in overseases which gives them the oppurtunity to observe different fashion trends and assists them to follow them . As a result ,their fashion taste changes in the way they dressed up .For example,in Pakistan many people wear western dresses as a symbol of fashion.

As far as i think , following the global fashion trends is imposing threat for cultures of countries because in the race of following international trends young generation do not wear the dresses of their own culture due to which individuals are forgetting their cultural dresses ,customs and rituals .Moreover, due to this development indivduals are becoming more materialistic and only working on the trends following which can cause the inferiority complex for the people who do not follow trends .For example, nowadays if a person is following the trends of froeing countries , he is considered more sophisticated inctead of the person who is wearing traditional

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question: social media and moving abroad are offered as reasons for fashion’s influence, and you clearly judge the development negatively because it may weaken cultural traditions and encourage materialism. The examples about Pakistani people wearing Western clothes and people being viewed as sophisticated for following foreign trends are relevant. This meets the task well, and the position is clear. To make the response more fully developed, explain the mechanisms and consequences in greater detail—for instance, how repeated exposure to influencers shapes purchasing or clothing choices. The point about moving abroad is less fully explained than the social-media point, and the final example is left unfinished, limiting its support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, and a paragraph presenting your negative view. Linking expressions such as “One major contributing factor,” “As a result,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within sentences is sometimes difficult to follow, and some connections feel mechanical. For example, the shift from social media to moving abroad is abrupt, while “As far as I think” introduces the opinion in an awkward way. The final sentence also stops before completing its comparison, disrupting the ending. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to the claim it supports, and ensure each paragraph and sentence reaches a complete conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “geographical boundaries,” “materialistic,” “inferiority complex,” and “cultural dresses.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message less clear, such as “celeberties,” “impliment,” “modren,” and “overseases.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “individuals dressing sense,” “the another reason,” and “following the trends of froeing countries.” Aim for accurate collocations and forms, such as “people’s sense of dress,” “another reason,” and “foreign fashion trends.” Greater control of spelling and natural phrasing would make your vocabulary more effective and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and longer sentences with subordinate clauses, as in the explanation that social-media applications show content from different countries and people then imitate celebrities. This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in sentence construction and punctuation are frequent enough to make parts harder to read. Examples include “This global fashion has become so remarkable in lives of people because…” and “As individuals prefer to do jobs or businesses in overseases which gives them…,” where the clause structure is incomplete or awkward. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, such as “the another reason” and the run-on punctuation around “As a result.” Practise building complete clauses and checking articles, agreement, and punctuation.
