Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays globalized world, peoples clothing choices are heavily influncened by international fashion trends. This essay argue that it is largely a positive development. There are two main reasons why global fashion has become so influential.Firstly, the rise of social media and the intrnet has made fasion accessible to everyone.Plarforms like instagram, tiktok, and youtube allow people in pajistan to see what celebrities in the USA or koera are wearing instantly.Secondly, fashion brand like ZARA,and nike have stores all over the world, both online and offline,They make trendy clothes affordable for the avearge person. For example, a student in sadiqabad can now order the t-shirt that is popular in london. In my opinion, this is the positive development for several reason. One major advantage is that it promotes cultural exchange and self expression.People can expariments with different styles and feel more confident and modern. It also create economic opportunities. Many local designer in pakistan are noe inspired by global trends and create fusion wear, which combine western and eastern styles, and they sell it online. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you explain the influence of social media and international retailers, and you state that the development is largely positive. Examples such as people in Pakistan seeing celebrities’ clothing and local designers creating fusion wear make the response relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the benefits are asserted rather than fully explained, and the negative point about traditional clothing is left unfinished (“IT AlSO ENCOURAGE”). The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, which limits how fully you can explain and support your ideas. To strengthen the answer, complete the counterpoint, clarify how the advantages outweigh it, and add specific explanation or examples to each main idea.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an explanation of fashion’s influence, a paragraph on benefits, and a final paragraph beginning to consider drawbacks. Sequencing is generally logical, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “However” help readers follow the argument. At times, though, the linking feels mechanical, and the final paragraph stops before its point is complete, weakening the progression and conclusion. Some ideas are also crowded together, particularly the examples of social media and retailers. Use clearer paragraph boundaries and develop one central point at a time; then finish with a concluding sentence that restates your position and shows how you weigh the cultural cost against the benefits.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion,” “cultural exchange,” “self expression,” “economic opportunities,” and “fusion wear.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both social and economic effects, and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, spelling errors and imprecise or awkward word choices are noticeable, for example “influncened,” “fasion,” “avearge,” and “expariments.” Some phrases also need more natural collocation, such as “fashion brand” and “the t-shirt that is popular.” Proofread carefully and build a wider set of accurate topic phrases, such as “international retailers,” “personal identity,” and “traditional dress.” This would make your ideas clearer and more precise without relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence explaining that platforms allow people in one country to see what celebrities elsewhere wear, and a relative clause describing fusion wear. The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation sometimes interrupt the flow. Examples include “This essay argue,” “It also create,” and “Many local designer … are … inspired,” where subject–verb agreement or plural forms are not controlled. Several sentences also run together, such as the sentence beginning “Secondly” and continuing through the retailer example. Check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and practise combining clauses accurately. More reliable control of these patterns would let you express the same range with greater clarity.
