Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many aspects the global fashion trends are influencing people's lives. I believe it is a positive development as people are moving towards the manageable and comforting clothes rather than extra fitted, uncomfortable clothes in the name of enhancing beauty.
I believe this positive change has been made by the Gen Z as they people are in the view to live life of comfort rather than enduring social pressure and unwanted cultural influence which has made lives easy and shift the fashion trends globally.
There is a huge shifft as people normalize thriffting the clothes rather than buying fresh from the brands. They have started following lose and comforting fashion trends than bearing uncomfortable trends for just to be a part of society.
There are some negative impacts as well as, fashion industry has to make clothes according to the demand of the people. They have to accept the needs and change the designs, comfort level according to the mind set of people. As people are shiffting their focus from brands to thrift market ita has made them to manage their pricing range as well so that people do buying from brand stores as well.
Overall, there are both negative and positive sides of the fashion shift and these are infuencing people's life in many ways as clothings are the essential part of everyone's life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear overall view that global fashion’s shift towards comfort and thrift shopping is positive, while acknowledging some effects on clothing brands. However, the task asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative. The response mainly describes a change in preferences and attributes it to Gen Z, but does not explain the mechanisms that spread trends globally, such as social media, celebrities, or international retail. The negative side is also unclear: brands adapting their prices and designs is not explained as a harmful consequence. Your examples remain general and are not developed. The response is 25 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support the ideas. Develop both parts with specific reasons and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two paragraphs about changing preferences and industry effects, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “There are some negative impacts” signal a shift in focus. However, the progression between ideas is not always clear. For example, the claim that people are moving from brands to thrift markets is followed by a point about brands adjusting prices, but the relationship between these ideas is not fully explained. Several points about comfort and social pressure are repeated across the first three paragraphs, while the conclusion largely restates the opening. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each cause to its consequence, and use referencing and linking phrases more precisely to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “social pressure,” “thrifting,” “brands,” and “pricing range.” These terms help communicate the main subject, but the overall range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “manageable and comforting clothes,” “extra fitted,” and “people do buying from brand stores.” Spelling errors such as “shifft,” “thriffting,” and “infuencing” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe clothes as “comfortable” or “loose-fitting,” and explain that consumers “buy from brand-name stores.” A wider range of accurate vocabulary would make your discussion clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “as people are moving…” and another using “rather than.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to follow. For example, “I believe this positive change has been made by the Gen Z as they people are in the view to live life of comfort” contains problems with the article, pronoun use, and sentence construction. In “There are some negative impacts as well as, fashion industry has to make clothes,” the clause connection and punctuation are incorrect. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Check articles, agreement, and punctuation when editing.
