Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response makes a brief attempt to address both questions: it identifies global fashion as an influence and states, “i think that global fashion … is an postive development.” However, it does not explain how fashion became influential, and the discussion of effects on education, work, goals, and society is largely generic rather than connected to clothing or fashion. The positive position is stated but not justified with a relevant reason or example, so the main ideas remain minimally developed. The response is also below the required 250 words: it contains 224 words, and 32 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the answer, explain specific drivers such as social media, celebrities, or international brands, then support the positive or negative view with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is an attempt to organise the response using an opening, phrases such as “To begin with” and “In addition,” and a final opinion. These signals show some awareness of how to structure an essay. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the opening repeats the task, and the two body sections largely restate that fashion influences people without developing distinct points. Several links are unclear, as in “As an effects Education, work and personal life of others ways,” and “It” has no consistently clear reference. The conclusion arrives abruptly. Use separate paragraphs for the causes of fashion’s influence and your evaluation, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “influence,” “individuals and communities,” and “future generation.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject. However, the range is repetitive and often too general to express ideas about fashion precisely; words such as “issue,” “people,” and “influence” recur without adding detail. There are also inaccurate or unclear choices, including “the diracation of society,” “over all well-being,” and “more less,” which make parts of the message difficult to interpret. Build a more specific fashion vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. For example, refer to “international brands,” “fashion trends,” or “personal style” rather than relying on broad terms such as “issue.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “This is because…” and “While in the long term…,” and uses time contrasts to organise ideas. However, control is inconsistent, and sentence boundaries and clause structures are often faulty. For example, “This easy will investigate…” is not a complete, accurate opening, while “It is not only influence how people lives also determines…” has problems with verb forms and sentence construction. Other examples include “another important point this issue is…” and the fragment “Is an instance…”. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly the repeated capital “It” and lowercase “i.” Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and correctly matched verbs, then proofread for punctuation and sentence boundaries.
