Student answer (Band 6.0)

People nowadays style their clothes inspired by the trending fashion, which I strongly believe that this could be a negative impact towards development.

Today, influencers are popular when it comes to fashion or styling clothes. People would search up their idol and would get inspiration for their next outfit. I believe that this started during the pandemic era, which makes us all stay at home, with mostly phones on our hands. This is where an application called TikTok became popular. Plenty of rising stars became famous in a day. Starting that season, global fashion became a strong influence on people's lives.

Moreover, influence may sound positive to others, but this kind of influence to people, relying on others' style would greatly affect one's development. This could lead to laziness. Some people would just be lazy to figure out how to even style a simple clothing. In my experience, even a simple gym outfit, I would need to search it online just so I can fit in the modern fashion. Significantly, children can now use social media, and with that, they can see adult-fashion content that are highly sensitive for their eyes. In an early age, they became open to that kind of clothing, in which I suggest is wrong.

In other hand, trending fashion can bring positive developements in regards with business. Clothes are fast-moving products, and sometimes people would use their newly bought polo once, and would throw or keep in their cabinet for a long time just because it is not popular anymore.

To conclude, the negative impact of global fashion that were influenced to poeple's lives nowadays outweighs the postive impact because this mostly contributes to the laziness, people trying to fit in today's society, and children accessing the internet at an early age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and make your view clear: global fashion is linked to social-media influencers, and you judge its effects as mainly negative. The pandemic and TikTok provide a relevant explanation of how the influence grew, while your gym-outfit example makes the pressure to follow trends more personal. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The claim that copying styles causes “laziness” needs clearer explanation, and the concern about children seeing adult-fashion content is introduced without a specific example or fuller link to global trends. The business point is also brief and its connection to the positive side is not clearly explained. Develop each reason with a cause, consequence, and example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs explaining the influence and its effects, a contrasting point, and a conclusion that restates your position. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “In other hand,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. The paragraph beginning “In other hand” shifts to business and consumption, but the relationship between this point and your negative judgement is not made explicit. Within the earlier paragraph, the move from laziness to children’s exposure also feels abrupt. Use clearer transitions between distinct reasons and make references such as “this kind of influence” and “that kind of clothing” more precise so readers can follow exactly what each phrase refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “influencers,” “inspiration,” “global fashion,” “modern fashion,” and “fast-moving products.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and you attempt to express more specific concepts such as social-media influence and changing consumer habits. However, several word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise, including “style their clothes inspired by,” “search up their idol,” and “negative impact towards development.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “developements,” “poeple,” and “postive.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and control. Build a bank of natural topic collocations and proofread spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which,” “when,” and “because,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some sentence patterns, however, are not controlled accurately. For example, “which I strongly believe that this could be” combines two structures, while “This is where an application called TikTok became popular” does not clearly connect its subject to the preceding sentence. Agreement and clause structure are also problematic in “adult-fashion content that are highly sensitive,” and “In an early age” shows an inaccurate prepositional pattern. Review sentence boundaries and make sure each clause has a clear subject and verb. More accurate control of these structures would make your varied sentences easier to follow.
