Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media, celebrities and online advertising, and give a balanced view before stating that the development is positive in some ways but should be followed sensibly. Relevant effects include self-expression, cultural awareness, employment, spending pressure and environmental waste. This covers the task well, but several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that fashion supports the economy would be stronger with a brief explanation or example, and the positive and negative effects could be weighed more clearly to support your final position. The conclusion does state a view, though “in some ways” could be made more decisive. The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph considering benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main line of argument. You also use linking expressions such as “To commence with,” “On the positive side,” “However,” and “In addition.” At times, though, the progression is interrupted by incomplete or awkwardly connected sentences, such as “the main reason why global fashion has become popular” and “Secondaly, international brands adverties their products online and attract.” Some transitions feel formulaic, and the relationship between ideas in the causes paragraph is not always clear. Make each paragraph’s topic sentence a complete claim, then connect each supporting point explicitly to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “celebrities,” “express their personality,” “fashionable clothes,” and “harm the environment.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise word choices make the writing less fluent, for example “infuenced,” “modren,” “adverstising,” “cllthes,” and “infulance.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “copy their clothings styles” and “follow fashion according to their needs.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases for advertising, consumer pressure and environmental impact would help you express the argument with greater clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a contrast with “Although it has some benefits” and a reason introduced by “because of.” The main message is generally recoverable, but control is inconsistent: some sentences are incomplete, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation sometimes make the reader pause. For instance, “the main reason why global fashion has become popular” is a fragment, while “Many young people the follow celebrities” has an incorrectly placed word. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical construction around “rather blindings copying other.” Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, then check word order and punctuation. Building accuracy in these patterns will make your ideas easier to follow.
