In today's rapidly changing world, social media has played a crucial role in spreading the fashion all around the world. Many people use social media apps like Instagram, Tiktoke, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. They follow their favorite celebrities' on these apps and influence by their fashion sense. As a result, many clothing items can become popular in many parts of the world within a short period. For example, a jacket promoting by a influencer may attract thousand of young costumers all over the world. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: the opening explains how social media and celebrities spread trends, and the essay considers benefits and drawbacks. The environmental impact and unnecessary spending are relevant, while the point that fashion creates jobs gives a positive perspective. However, the response only partly develops the task. The positive discussion is brief, and the claim that global fashion creates jobs is not clearly connected to how fashion trends influence people’s lives. The question asks for your own judgement, but the conclusion mainly lists advantages and disadvantages rather than clearly stating whether you consider the development positive or negative. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and example, and state your overall position directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, separate discussion of benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion, so there is some overall organisation. The sequence from social media to global popularity is understandable, and signposts such as “However” help mark a contrast. Nevertheless, progression is uneven: the introduction promises a discussion of both sides, but the positive paragraph is very short and the essay moves abruptly from job creation to personal freedom. Some links are unclear, particularly the connection between online clothing sales, discarded clothes, pollution and health problems. The conclusion also repeats points without resolving the position. Use a clearer paragraph plan, develop one central idea at a time, and make cause-and-effect links explicit rather than relying on “For example” and “As a result.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “celebrities,” “environmental damage,” “greenhouse gases” and “unnecessary new clothes.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations and spelling errors make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “influence by their fashion sense,” “a jacket promoting by a influencer,” “costumers,” and “dirty water.” Some phrases are repeated, such as “creates many jobs,” and “all type of clothing” is imprecise. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for trends, consumer behaviour and environmental effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “a jacket promoting by a influencer may attract…” and a conditional-style explanation of the effects of buying and discarding clothes. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries. For example, “it develop economic benefits” and “Its creates many jobs” have incorrect verb forms, while “when individuals influence by their celebrity” is missing a necessary verb form. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially at the starts of sentences and around “however.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and past participles, then proofread each sentence for a complete clause and correct punctuation.
