Student answer (Band 5.0)

NOWADAYS, GLOBAL FASHION TREND HAVE A CRUCIAL INFLUENCE ON THE WAY OF PEOPLE DRESS. PEOPLE ARE INFLUENCED FROM SOCIAL MEDIA AND CELEBRITY AND OTHER FACTORS. ACCORDING TO ME IT IS NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE PEOPLE FORGOT THEIR CULUTRES AND TRADITION. THEY SPEND TOO MUCH MONY FOR BUYING NEW THINGS WHICH ARE UNECCESARY.

ON THE OTHER HAND, GLOBAL FASHION TREND HAVE MANY BENEFITS. FIRSTLY, IT INCREASED THE PEODUCTION OF COMPANIES. AND PEOPLE GET CHANCE TO EXPLORE NEW CULUTRES AND TRADITION. FOR EXAMPLE INDIA MOVE ON WESTERN CULUTRES . THEY ACCEPT THE CULTURES OF WEST PEOPLE. IT HELPS PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT NEW CULUTRES. SECONDLY, IT PROVIDE JOB OPPORUTNITY TO PEOPLE LIKE IN MANY CITIES , THERE ARE MANY FOREGIN COMPANY WHICH ARE SETTLEED AND GIVE EMPLOYEMENT TO THE PEOPLE. IT HELPS TO INCREASES THE PRODUCTION.

FINALLY, IT CAN ALSO BE A NEGTIVE DEVELOPMENT. BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOW FORGET THEIR CULUTRES AND TRADITION. AND THEY GIVE PRIORITY TO THE OTHERS CULUTRES SO IT IS NOT GOOD DEVELPOMENT . GLOBAL FASHION TREND EFFECT ON OTHER COUNTRY CULUTRES. MOREOVER, IT ALSO CREATE UNEMPLOYEMENT MANY LOCAL BUSINESS ARE GOING IN LOSS DUE TO NEW GLOBAL COMPANIES.

IN CONCLUSION, GLOBAL FASHION TREND BECOME MORE COMMON AMONG PEOPLE. NOWADAYS ALL ARE MOVING TOWARD NEW CULUTRES. BUT I THINK IT IS NOT GOOD DEVELOPMENT

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear overall view that global fashion is negative, and you mention relevant effects such as cultural change, spending, employment and pressure on local businesses. However, the response only partly answers the question: it does not explain in enough detail how global fashion became influential. Social media and celebrities are named in the opening, but their role is not developed with an explanation or example. The discussion also shifts between benefits and drawbacks without clearly weighing them against your stated position. The example about India is broad and needs a specific, relevant detail. The response is 215 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; this limits the space available to develop and support your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing also separates some benefits from drawbacks, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, progression is not consistently clear: the first paragraph states a negative position, the next focuses on benefits, and the final body paragraph returns to negatives without explaining how these points fit together. Several sentences are joined mechanically with “And” or “Because,” and repeated references to cultures and development make the argument feel circular. Group the reasons supporting your view together, use clearer links between cause and effect, and ensure each paragraph has one central purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trend,” “social media,” “celebrity,” “job opportunity” and “local business.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word forms, spellings and collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause: for example, “people forgot their cultures,” “increase the production,” and “companies which are settled.” The repeated use of “cultures and tradition” also limits precision. Aim to learn common phrases as complete units and check spelling carefully. More precise language for influence, consumer behaviour and cultural identity would help you explain your ideas without relying on the same general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You communicate some simple ideas in short sentences, and the response includes attempts to connect clauses, for example, “They spend too much money for buying new things which are unnecessary.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “global fashion trend have,” “it provide job opportunity,” and “people are now forget.” Some fragments, such as “Because people are now forget their cultures,” are not complete sentences, while long clauses are sometimes joined with full stops or “and” without clear control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences using subordinate clauses.
