Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays rapidly changing World, many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashin trends. In my opinion, fashion plays an important and significant role in the life of human. The most important thing noticed by someone you met for the first time is the way how dressed. In the sense of fashion, the global fashion trends plays an crucial role. Many people follow the trend of fashion influenced by their favourite celebrity. This can have both negative and positive aspects. I would discuss them in my essay.
From my perspective, by following trends of global fashions. you can create a great sense for fashion. Obviously, dressing well is very benefecial. You will have so much confidence in yourself if you dress well. Global fashion became such a strong influence on people's lives in recent years because of social media and digital platform. Everyone is now get more conservative and slective in their clothes. In my opinion, it is good sign that people want to dress accoding to the fashions trends. Because a well-dressed individual is man of great qualities and character.
I firmly believed that everyone should dress well according to their taste and nature. However, following the trend of global fashion can lead to some serious negative development. The primary reason of following such fashion trends is that it can be very costly and expensive. For instance, last month i have ordered a jacket that is very popular around social media. But it was way to much expensive. Also the quality is not vey good. Furthermore, one can develop the issue of insecurity as well. for example they will lose so much confidence if they are not well dressed. They will thought everyone is only looking at them. In this way, it can also cause insecurity.
In conclusion, dressing according to the globla fashion trends can have some positive and negative effects. But i reckon that the positive effect are significantly more than negative aspects. As fashion plays an important part in human lives. It is also benefical to use global fashion trends in the daily life dressing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both questions: it identifies social media and digital platforms as reasons global fashion spreads, and gives a qualified view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The discussion of confidence and the personal example of buying a popular jacket are relevant. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is brief, and claims such as “a well-dressed individual is man of great qualities and character” are asserted rather than supported. The negative effects—expense and insecurity—are clearer, but the positive case is less fully developed, so the position and supporting ideas are only partly elaborated. To strengthen the response, explain how online exposure, celebrities, or international brands shape purchasing and clothing choices, then support each main point with a specific example. The response meets the required length; 12 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow its broad movement from benefits to drawbacks. Linking expressions such as “However,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. Nevertheless, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear or repetitive. The introduction says the essay will discuss both sides, while the first body paragraph shifts between confidence, social media, and a broad claim about character without clearly connecting them. Some transitions are awkward, as in “From my perspective, by following trends of global fashions. you can…” The conclusion repeats the overall position but adds little synthesis. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, connect examples explicitly to that point, and avoid fragments or abrupt shifts so cohesion feels less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main ideas, including “global fashion trends,” “social media,” “confidence,” “insecurity,” and “quality.” It also attempts some more specific phrasing, such as “digital platform” and “according to their taste and nature.” However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the writing less precise: “a great sense for fashion,” “more conservative and slective,” and “globla fashion trends” are examples. Repetition of “fashion,” “trend,” and “well dressed” also reduces flexibility. Aim to use accurate, natural combinations and vary repeated terms—for example, describe how online content “promotes” styles or how consumers “adopt” them. Proofreading spelling and word forms would make the intended meaning easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay includes simple statements and some attempts at longer structures, including a conditional sentence (“if you dress well”) and a contrast introduced by “However.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur often enough to affect fluency. Examples include “the global fashion trends plays,” “Everyone is now get,” and “they will thought”; these need forms such as “trends play,” “everyone now gets,” and “they will think.” The opening also contains a fragment-like construction: “The most important thing noticed by someone you met for the first time is the way how dressed.” Work on building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and tense consistency. More accurate complex sentences would help express cause, contrast, and examples clearly.
