Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays world an increasing number of people's way of dressing changes as global fashion trends emerge and influences the population. The reason behind this immense influence on people's lives is celebrities promoting clothing brand. I my opinion this is a negative development.
Most of the fast fashion clothing brands hire celebrities as their brand ambassador to pomote their clothes and jewellary. Due to their huge fan following and social media engagement most of their fans starts admiring them thinking a big personality wearing this may get them a laxuary. Which potraid as a peice of an laxuary item that brings a lot of sales to the brands. For instance, HRX a clothing brand, emerged as a big share holder in gym clothing which is promoted and owned by hithrik roshan, an indian film superstar.
On the other hand, majority of younger population and genz buy this fashion cloths even though they are expensive and offers no quality and comfort which should be the paramount priority of clothes at first place. And most of the parents think this as a miscellaneous spending on such low quality and expensive garments. Epitome, zara which sells laxuary cloths, has very poor quality fabric and sky touching prices for a peice of cloth.
In conclusion, the celebrity imapact on emerging fashion trends is the main reason behind peolpe's influence and this creates a neagtive impact on people getting influenced by these public figures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify celebrity promotion as a reason global fashion spreads and clearly state that you see this as negative. The HRX example supports the influence of a celebrity, while the Zara example illustrates your concern about price and quality. However, the explanation of how trends reach people is narrow, focusing almost entirely on celebrities, and the negative effects are asserted more than developed. The response also does not meet the stated 250-word minimum, which limits the opportunity to explain and support your ideas. Develop the mechanism further—for example, explain how social media exposure encourages imitation—and clarify the consequences for consumers with specific reasoning or evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph explains celebrity promotion, and the next shifts to the cost and quality of fashionable clothing, so the reader can follow the main line of thought. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “In conclusion” help signal examples and closure. However, the progression between ideas is sometimes unclear: “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph continues the negative argument. Some references, such as “this” in “wearing this,” are also not fully clear. Use more precise transitions and make each paragraph’s central point explicit before adding supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “brand ambassador,” “fan following,” “social media engagement,” “paramount priority” and “low quality.” These choices show an effort to discuss fashion and consumer behaviour beyond basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning harder to follow, as in “pomote,” “laxuary,” “sky touching prices” and “a big share holder.” Some words also do not fit the intended meaning, such as “miscellaneous spending” for unnecessary expenditure. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; simpler precise expressions such as “high prices” or “poor-quality fabric” would communicate your points more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including “Due to their huge fan following and social media engagement…” and the relative clause “which is promoted and owned by…”. This gives the response some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often incomplete or faulty, and errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “most of their fans starts admiring them” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “thinking a big personality wearing this may get them…” is not formed as a clear clause. The opening sentence also has an unclear grammatical relationship between “changes” and “influences.” Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement, articles and punctuation before adding complexity.
