Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you identify social media, the internet, celebrities and accessible brands as reasons global fashion spreads, and you state that you see it as mostly positive while acknowledging cultural loss. These are relevant ideas, and examples such as Instagram, Kylie Jenner and Zara help make the explanation concrete. However, the positive effects—confidence, attractiveness and broader thinking—are asserted rather than explained, and the negative effect of losing cultural identity is only briefly mentioned. The conclusion, “global fashion become a powerful brand,” does not clearly restate your overall judgement. Develop the effects with a specific explanation or example and make your final position explicit to address all parts more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response contains a recognisable progression from changes in clothing habits to reasons for fashion’s influence, then to your opinion and a concluding sentence. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “According to my opinion” and “In conclusion” signal these stages. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous block, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the introduction, explanation and evaluation. Several points are also joined in long sequences, and the contrast marker “On the other hand” introduces another cause rather than a clear opposing idea. Group related points into paragraphs and use clearer links between causes, benefits and drawbacks. This would make the overall progression easier to follow and reduce the impression of a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “cultural identity,” “traditional clothes,” “accessible” and “self-expression.” Brand and platform names also provide relevant examples. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the message less clear, as in “requirment,” “globle,” “tremds” and “nrgative.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “make people celebrity,” “suffering the complex” and “broaden the people mind.” Repeated general praise—“attractive, gorgeous, beautiful, awesome and superb”—uses several similar adjectives without adding much precision. Choose fewer, more exact expressions and check spelling and collocations; for example, explain how fashion can help people express identity or feel socially confident.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use mostly simple statements but also attempt longer structures to explain causes and effects, including “People watch them and also like to follow their trends” and the sentence about stores and online shopping. Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “It also make” should use a verb agreeing with “it,” while “celebrities are also play” combines incompatible verb forms. The opening also has an unclear construction in “the people wore simple and almost traditional dresses.” Punctuation and spacing around commas are inconsistent, and several ideas run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences around one clear main clause, checking each sentence’s verb and punctuation.
