Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the recent times, the dressing style of a growing number of people is majorly attributable to the ongoing global trends of fashion industry. While major influence of international trends can create a sense of uniformity and acceptance of different cultures into the society, i believe the shift of adopting different styles and attires that are being followed worldwide may hinder local designers and industries to loose the creativity and the demand for regional apparrel.
To begin with, the positive aspect of adopting global fashion trends is the sense of belongingness and acceptance which people experience when they feel that they are part of the community. This happens when people around the world follow a similar dressing style or fashion. For instance; Denim jeans was introduced for the labor class because of their rough and harsh work environment which demanded something long lasting however, the material became popular worldwide that now every country has denim made jackets, pants and shirts.
Despite this, significant drawback of following global fashion trends and being pursuaded by dressing styles of other cultures and countries is the hampering of local apparel businesses. Supplier and Artists who create original work and designs that include essence of the regional culture and history, may lose the motivation to produce any traditional and vintage dresses due to an increased shift in the demand for global apparel. In other words, Local industries may adopt replicated styles with little modifications hence eliminating any creativity.
To conclude, although being highly infliuenced by the global fashion trends do promote relation building among the nations, I think the negative impact on a country's creativity which lies in its history and rich art is lost among the trends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain that shared styles can create belonging and cultural acceptance, and you give a clear overall view that the effect is negative because local creativity and businesses may suffer. The denim example is relevant and helps illustrate how a fashion item can spread internationally. However, the question asks how global fashion became such a strong influence, and this is not explained directly: the essay mainly discusses its effects rather than the mechanisms behind its influence. The positive point is also less developed than the negative one, while claims about local industries losing motivation or adopting copied designs would benefit from a specific example or fuller explanation. Develop the causes of fashion’s reach and support both sides more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to a positive point, a contrasting negative point, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Despite this,” and “To conclude” make the direction of the argument easy to follow. Ideas generally progress logically within each paragraph, particularly from the benefit of shared styles to the denim example. To make the progression more effective, connect the discussion more directly to the question of how global fashion exerts influence; the body paragraphs focus mainly on consequences. Some linking phrases feel formulaic, and the opening sentence is dense, so clearer sentence-level organisation would make the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “sense of belongingness,” “regional culture and history,” and “local apparel businesses.” These choices allow you to discuss both cultural and economic effects, and some less common expressions show an attempt to be precise. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “majorly attributable,” “long lasting” for clothing material, and “relation building among the nations.” There are also spelling errors, including “apparrel,” “pursuaded,” and “infliuenced,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise combinations rather than formal-sounding phrases, and proofread spelling. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including a concessive opening (“While…”) and a relative clause describing designs “that include essence of the regional culture and history.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the range is sufficient to express contrast and cause. Some grammatical errors persist, however. For example, “Denim jeans was introduced” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “may hinder local designers and industries to loose” has an incorrect verb pattern. The long opening sentence also contains awkward clause construction, while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, as in “For instance;” and “i believe.” Review agreement, verb patterns after “hinder,” and sentence boundaries; greater control would make the complex sentences clearer.
