Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowaday's, global fashion trends have a significant on the way people dress up themselves. This is because of people influence form social media tendings, celebreties clothing and international fashion style. In my opinion, this is a largely positive development, although it also has some disadvantage.
There are several reasons why fashion trends are globly popular. Firstly, social media allows people to follow trend from instagram, tiktok and facbook. In other words, influencer and celebrities post their outfits photos on social media due to which people who follows them starts wearing similiar clothing style. Secondly, International brands promotes their newly articals on internet due to which is more easily to shop them from online. In result, people can easily purchase clothes that are popular in other countries without travelling abroad.
I believe that this development is generally positive because it allows people to learn their pesonalise fashion and different culture. For example, young once are wearing western cloths and mixed them with indian culture to create unique outfit. Furthermore, the global fashion brands create employment opportunites in fashion designing, marketing and retail. For example, nowadays young once are more induced in fashion designing they create unique oufits which help them to being more creative. In result, they learn new skills which they can use to opt jobs in clothing sectors.
However, this trend has it own downside because people are influence from social media a spend a lot on clothings but after trend end they become waste for them. In other words, some poeple just buy trending clothes to a part of their friends who styles regularly. This can encourage unnessesory spending, purticularly among young once. Additionally, trendy clothing can contribute to environmental pollution because many garments are quickly discarded and replaced.
In conclusion, global fashion has become famous due to social media, celebrities and the international clothing brands Although it can encourage excessive spending and environmental damage, I believe its benefits, particularly in terms of self-expression and cultural exchange, outweigh its disadvantages, provided that people follow trends responsibly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the question: it explains the influence of social media, celebrities and international brands, and gives a clear view that the development is largely positive despite drawbacks. The position is maintained in the body and conclusion, and relevant examples—such as combining Western clothing with Indian culture and the employment created in fashion-related fields—help support the argument. The discussion of environmental waste and unnecessary spending also acknowledges the negative side. To strengthen the response further, develop the causal explanations more precisely: for instance, explain how repeated exposure to influencers turns particular styles into widely adopted trends, and give more detail about the scale or value of the employment benefit rather than making a broad claim about young people becoming more creative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an explanation of how trends spread, a paragraph supporting the positive view, a counterpoint, and a conclusion. Paragraphs have identifiable central purposes, and signposting such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “However” helps readers follow the argument. The conclusion also returns to the main position. Some linking is less smooth or precise, particularly repeated use of “In other words” and “In result,” which can make connections feel formulaic. A few sentences contain several ideas joined by “due to which,” so the relationship between cause and result is not always easy to follow. Use a wider range of clear transitions and make each sentence’s connection to the paragraph’s main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “global fashion trends,” “self-expression,” “cultural exchange,” “environmental pollution,” and “excessive spending.” These choices allow the main ideas to be understood, and there are attempts to use more specific language about fashion and employment. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable throughout, including “globly,” “tendings,” “articals,” “pesonalise,” and “unnessesory.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “follow trend,” “purchase clothes that are popular,” and “being more creative.” These inaccuracies limit precision and sometimes interrupt fluency. Build a reliable set of topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; for example, use “follow trends,” “fashion items,” and “develop their creativity.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There are attempts to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “which.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. Examples include “a significant on the way,” “people who follows them starts,” “brands promotes,” and “people are influence.” Some sentences also combine clauses without a clear grammatical structure, as in “people are influence from social media a spend a lot.” Punctuation is occasionally missing, including before “Although” in the conclusion. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and subordinate clauses, then proofread each sentence for agreement, articles, and complete clause structure.
