Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is true that many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends. This phenomenon has left profound impacts on people's lives as well as the society. I think it's a negative development. To address the matter, several solutions can be implemented.
First, dress has a direct impact on people's personality and it also reflects the culture of a certain society. Many people tries to copy trends when it comes to fashion and it has a strong influence on their lives. To explain this further every culture and society has their own norms and dressing style which reflects their way of living and beliefs. So, a dress normal in one culture or society may be inappropriater or unacceptable in other society or culture.
Secondly, although change in dressing according to the needs and discipline is neccessary but trying to exactly copy the dressing style of another society is not appropriate. we should follow global fashion trends but in limits according to the needs and discipline of one own's society.
Furthermore, it can be seen that sometimes people follow the new fashionable trend or follow actors/actresses dressing sense and they are of the view that it is a new trend and we must follow it otherwise people would think we are old fashioned. So to fit into global's trend they try to dress differently in certain events.
Fortunately, several measures could be taken to tackle this situation like global fashion trend should be followed but in limits as it strongly influences people's lives and the society. Only those dresses or trends should be followed which are acceptable to the society and doesn't hurt the sentiments of others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view—“I think it's a negative development”—and discuss cultural norms, pressure to follow celebrities, and the need to adapt trends to local expectations. However, the task asks both how global fashion became influential and whether this is positive or negative. The explanation of how it gained influence is limited: celebrity imitation and fear of seeming “old fashioned” are relevant, but they are not extended with concrete examples or a fuller account. The negative position is also asserted more than demonstrated, and the proposed “solutions” do not directly explain the causes. Develop each main point with a specific example and make the link between global trends and their effects clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, several body paragraphs and a concluding recommendation. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” help signal the order of points. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph discusses cultural differences, while the next repeats the idea of limiting imitation, and the final paragraph introduces measures rather than drawing together the argument. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “this situation” are broad. Organise the body around distinct points—for example, how media spreads trends and why this creates cultural or social pressure—and use transitions that show the relationship between those points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “norms,” “beliefs,” “fashionable trend,” and “sentiments.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “fit into” convey social pressure effectively. However, several expressions are imprecise or awkward, including “dress has a direct impact on people's personality,” “dressing sense,” and “global's trend.” Spelling errors such as “inappropriater” and “neccessary” also reduce accuracy. Some key words, particularly “society,” “trend,” and “follow,” recur frequently. Aim for more natural collocations and vary repeated terms; this would make your argument clearer and more fluent without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a subordinate clause in “although change in dressing according to the needs and discipline is necessary…” and a relative clause in “dresses or trends which are acceptable…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but errors occur often enough to affect fluency. Examples include “Many people tries” instead of “Many people try,” “in other society” instead of “in another society,” and “one own's society,” which has an incorrect possessive structure. The sentence beginning “So to fit into global's trend” also lacks a clear grammatical subject. Capitalisation after full stops is inconsistent, as in “we should follow.” Check agreement, articles and possessives, and revise long sentences into clear, complete clauses.
