Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays many people are following global trends for there dressing fasion. If people saw a new viral movie, other video in which dressing are unique. they start dressing like it. Also if a famous person is spotted and he choosen a design for his dressing by himself. More people are likely to dress like him. This is for dressing, or other fashion designs. No matter if he is from other country or other culture. In past month i saw a young boy his haircut was unique as he has previously. I asked him about changing his hairstyle. He reply me that he saw it in an indian program and then followed for himself.

Global fashion has a strong influence on people. People nowadays are so much active on social media platforms. So they are watching and looking at different country peoples. Following there fashion and promoting it in there own cultures. By this way more and more people are getiing into this. People are also so much impressed from public personalities such as movies stars. This is also a major cause of this thing. As i met with a person at gym. Hear him telling to his trainer that he want to make body like shahrukh khan, an indian actor.

It have both positive and negative effects. Like if people are following and adopting dress styles like actors. There are awaerness coming in people and different world trends. But it have also negative effects. Some way of dressing are not acceptable in every culture. It bring problems to there cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify social media, films and celebrities as influences, and you mention positive and negative effects. The examples of the hairstyle seen in an Indian programme and the gym-goer who admires Shah Rukh Khan help make the causes more concrete. However, the discussion remains limited and some points are not fully explained. For instance, you say fashion creates “awareness” but do not clarify what people learn or why this is beneficial. The negative effect—that some styles are unacceptable in certain cultures—is also asserted without a specific consequence or example. Your overall view is therefore only partly clear; develop each side and state directly which effect you consider stronger.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: the opening discusses examples, the next paragraph explains social media and celebrity influence, and the final paragraph considers effects. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression between ideas is not always clear, and several links are repetitive or awkward. For example, “This is also a major cause of this thing” does not clearly identify what “this thing” refers to, while “It have both positive and negative effects” introduces the final paragraph without a clear connection to the preceding causes. Some sentences are also isolated fragments, such as “No matter if he is from other country or other culture.” Use clearer topic sentences and precise referencing, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of relevant vocabulary, including “global trends,” “social media platforms,” “public personalities,” and “cultures,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “dressing fasion,” “getting into this,” and “problems to there cultures.” Some phrases, such as “different country peoples,” are not natural English collocations. Aim to use more precise expressions for the mechanisms and effects of fashion influence, and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague phrases with specific terms will make your explanations clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer structures, including sentences beginning with “If” and “So,” but the range is limited and many sentences contain errors that can make the meaning difficult to follow. Verb forms and agreement are frequent problems: “he choosen,” “He reply me,” and “It have” should use correctly formed verbs. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention; “they start dressing like it” follows a full stop after “unique” despite continuing the same thought, while “No matter if he is from other country or other culture” is an incomplete sentence. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, articles, and complete sentence structure.
